This is an original shifter knob or ball which was used on all 1955-1957 Thunderbirds which had the standard three speed transmission or the three speed with overdrive transmission.  This shifter knob is an assembly line original which is made of bakolite and has gripping notches around the middle of the knob.  The knob is in excellent condition but does have a few scratches in the black bakeolite. Chrysler is recalling automatic-transmission-equipped 2010 Jeep Wranglers for a problem with the transmission skid plate. The plate, meant to protect delicate parts from rough terrain, can collect debris near the catalytic converter. That can lead to a fire.

CAR WORKERS and mechanics are the most physically active staff, taking regular exercise more than three times a week, according to a new study. Employees in leisure and tourism were ranked second. A survey of 2,000 workers by the British Heart Foundation (BHF) to mark its cycling campaign, found that mechanics did some form of physical exercise more than four times a week.
