 This is a special thermostat for the 1955, 1956, and 1957 Thunderbird 312 and 292 'Y' Block V-8's.

These cars had very limited air exchange through the engine compartment and were prone to over heating problems. 

This thermostat has an extra large throat for added water flow through the system.  Temperature set is 170 F - This is just below the 3/4 quarter mark on most gauge set ups for this year range. 

Item is new - an over stock from a recent restoration.  Item includes gaskets.

There is layer upon layer of intricate detail in the movie Cars 2, the sequel to the successful 2006 Pixar release Cars. So much detail, in fact, that you might want to wait until the DVD comes out so that you can freeze the frames and pick out all of the subtle automotive styling cues that abound within. Replacing him is 61-year-old Alan Mulally, previously the boss of Boeing's commercial aircraft division. Ford stepped down as part of a major management reshuffle designed to reverse the ailing fortunes of the world’s third largest car manufacturer.
