This is an original Ford heat riser or thermostatic control which mounts between the exhaust manifold and the RH exhaust pipe.  This heat riser was used on all 1955-1957 Thunderbirds and all 1955 thru 1962 Ford passenger cars and Mercurys which had a 292 or 312 Y block V8 engine.  The purpose of this heat riser was to allow your engine to warm up before allowing the exhaust gases to exit your exhaust pipe on the RH side.  This heat riser was glass beaded and painted with a hi-temp cast blast paint.  It's in excellent working condition.  It has an NOS anti-rattle spring and the original spring steel stop which is often missing or broken. Perfect for replacing a missing, damaged or "dummy" riser with a factory original.   See my eBay Store for more Ford and Thunderbird parts59Payment is expected within 10 days of the close of the auction.
