We recently acquired a large trailer load of classic car and hot rod parts from a lifetime collector and this distributor was in that batch of parts. This is an Accel dual point distributor, it is a tach drive, and the number on it is 30100T. It was sealed in a plastic bag when we got it and it looks to be in excellent condition. I found a website that listed the cars it would fit and it appears most of the Corvettes are the cars with the tach drive, so here is that list. It will fit the 55-56 Corvette with the 265 motor, the 57-61 Corvette with the 283 motor, the 65 Corvette with the 327 motor, the 70-73 Corvette with the 350 motor, the 65 Corvette with the 396 motor, the 70-72 Corvette with the 427 motor, and the 70-73 Corvette with the 454 motor. It also fits most other Chevrolets both big and small block that have the tach drive. The 2 little clips that would hold the distributor cap on have some rust on them, but the rest of it is clean and looks great. There is no cap with it, so you will need to supply that. Free shipping anywhere in the lower 48 United States. Int'l extra. Good luck!!

Opel Insignia Sports Tourer wagon spotted near GM's proving grounds

Wed, 17 Oct 2012

Just like my parents used to say, “You can't get anything by us, we have eyes everywhere.” Ominous threats aside, GM's European unit Opel tried to sneak an Insignia Sports Tourer station wagon onto the roads of Michigan. Luckily our roving eyes spotted the car--complete with turbo badges--and sent some photos back to the mothership. A wagon version of the European sedan has been spotted on Michigan roads before.

Why the BMW M4 is better than the M3 V8 (2013)

Wed, 25 Sep 2013

It’s no exaggeration to say that the turbocharged engine in the upcoming BMW M3 (saloon) and M4 (coupe) models is one of the most important engines ever produced by BMW’s M Division. No, it’s not the first turbo lump the performance off-shoot has built – you'll probably know we’ve already had the X5/X6M mutants plus the brilliant 1M and M5 and M6 – but it is the first turbo ever to slot in a production M3, the car that personifies BMW’s iconic performance sub brand, which itself has always been defined by high-revving, naturally aspirated engines. All of this explains why M’s engineers have cut their teeth on other engines first before plucking up the courage to develop the M3/M4 turbo while turning their backs on the outgoing E92 M3’s exceptional V8.

Land Rover Freelander 2 2011: The Video

The Freelander 2 2011 - Video below It’s only a week or two (well, almost three) since Land Rover spilled the beans on the changes for the 2011 Freelander 2. But that’s long enough for them to have got the camcorder out and shot a bit of footage. So as they sent it to us – and it lets you see the subtle cosmetic changes for the 2011 MY – we thought we’d publish it.
