Up for sale is a set of original, 1955 Chevrolet, GM accessory bumper guards, and grille guard. They are in decent used condition, there are no rust holes or serious damage, and the grille guard is complete with both mounting brackets and hardware. These were removed from a 45,000 mile, 1955 Belair, the chrome definitely isn't perfect there are pits and scratches, these are great cores for new chrome or they would be decent parts for a driver. Fri, 23 Apr 2010Session 5: Color and Trim On the second day of the conference, Andreas Wlasak, Vice President of Industrial Design at Faurecia, opened proceedings by announcing that the company plans to open a design studio in Shanghai this year. "A design centre in Shanghai – a new place in China for 2010 – this is a commitment," he declared. Wlasak then asked what OEMs should look for in terms of visualizing the concept of ‘green' design inside the vehicle interior: "OEMs might look for 'visual' green – how can you make it visible that the vehicle is efficient and reducing CO2?" He believed real wood is one likely way of achieving this, as people want to feel natural surfaces, and he also envisaged translucent surfaces playing a key role in years to come.
Volkswagen's de'Silva aims for positive influence on Porsche styling
Mon, 11 Oct 2010Volkswagen Group design director Walter de'Silva hopes to add "something positive" to the design of Porsche's new models, beginning with the Cajun SUV. Porsche AG is set to become Volkswagen AG's 10th brand and Porsche design director Michael Mauer now reports to de'Silva, along with the heads of the styling centers of the other VW group brands such as Skoda, Seat, Bentley and Lamborghini. De'Silva said he has just started working with Mauer and their relationship is off to a good start.
