Aston Martin LOST £24.6 million in 2012
Thu, 10 Oct 2013The Aston Martin Vanquish (pictured) launch in 2012 contributed to AML’s losses We reported just the other day that Aston Martin had axed the Cygnet after woeful sales, and it’s not just the Cygnet that hasn’t been selling well. In fact, Aston Martin sales in 2012 – 67,500 units – was still 42,500 down on its pre-recession sales levels of 110,000 cars in 2007 and that lead to yet another loss. Aston Martin has posted pre-tax losses for 2012 of £24,6 million on sales of £461.2 million for 2012, a worsening position over 2011 which saw losses of £21.2 million.
Mercedes F125 Hydrogen Fuel Cell Concept leaks
Mon, 12 Sep 2011Mercedes F125 Hydrogen Fuel Cell Concept It’s probably going to be like this for a few days, with leaks ahead of reveals as Frankfurt looms. Now we have a bit of a surprise from the boys at Benz, with the leak of a photo of the Mercedes F125 Hydrogen Fuel Cell Concept. Possibly pointing the way to the next generation S-Class – or maybe the one after, or the one after that, or… – the big gullwing coupé comes with a proper set of green credentials and, for a real change, green credentials with a future.
BMW 1-series M Coupe (2011) teaser video
Tue, 31 Aug 2010BMW is continuing to build up the hype ahead of the launch of its next M car – this is a teaser video giving us our first glimpse of the undisguised BMW 1-series M Coupe What’s new is our first look at this hot 1-series’ butch bodykit, complete with an engorged front bumper and triple air intakes. There are CSL-alike 19-inch wheels too, and sitting between the cross-drilled front discs is a twin-turbo 3.0-litre straight-six, producing 335bhp and 369lb ft. Drive, thankfully, goes to just the rear wheels, and they’ll be a choice of either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. There’ll be an M diff too, but we hear it might be on the options list as BMW’s money men fight to keep the list price under £40k.
