Bajaj RE60

Wed, 04 Jan 2012

Bajaj, the Indian manufacturer most famous for its two- and three-wheeled exploits, has now turned its attention to the automotive sector. The RE60 is the end result of a four-year development that first began with partner Renault-Nissan and the Lite concept, before moving solely in-house. The sub-400kg car is powered by a rear mounted engine and was conceived, originally, as a rival to the blighted Tata Nano.

London parking space on sale for £75,000

Thu, 23 Jan 2014

NEVER MIND the car; one enterprising home owner is hoping to earn some handy extra money by selling their parking space for £75,000. Located on Westbridge Road in Battersea SW11, the listing indicates that it is a single parking space at the rear of a property – so there’s no garage to keep the car safe, merely enough space for it to be parked. With easy access to the River Thames and nearby Battersea Park it is an attractive location, but only for someone in the immediate vicinity.

Saab seeks court protection from creditors

Wed, 07 Sep 2011

Saab is filing for protection from creditors from a Swedish district court, the automaker's owner, Swedish Automobile, said Wednesday. Saab is seeking court approval for a voluntary reorganization to secure short-term stability while it waits for funding from Chinese investors Pang Da and Zhejiang Youngman, Swedish Automobile said in a statement. Victor Muller, CEO of both Saab and Swedish Automobile, said in a statement: "We have concluded that a voluntary reorganization process will provide us with the necessary time, protection and stabilization of the business, allowing salary payments to be made, short-term funding to be obtained and an orderly restart of production to be prepared." Muller remains optimistic about Saab's future.
