15439884 160 MPH Speedometer for a 1956, 1957, 1958 Studebaker Golden Hawk modes. I bought this one in 2001 at a Studebaker Meet in North Carolina. It was repaired with a new bezel and glass. It has been sitting in a closet in my home ever since.

The seller, Ted Banner of Kinston NC, certified that it operates correctly. It shows 25,000.6 miles on the odometer. I never had the occasion to use it and now I've sold the car, so hopefully someone else can make good use of it. The 160 MPH versions of this unit are a lot more scarce than the 120 MPH speedometer used on the other Hawks of the period. If the odometer read zero, this could pass for an NOS unit.

The dial and needle look perfect. The bezel is beautiful. This one is easily good enough for a show car.

Lotus Evora – all new photos

Sat, 02 May 2009

All new pictures of the Lotus Evora - to be launched in the UK in June It does seem to have taken for ever to get the Lotus Evora in to showrooms – it’s been coming for almost a year now. We did finally get Lotus Evora specifications and UK prices back in March, but even though the launch has once again been put back (from May until June) the release of these photos is clear evidence that finally the Lotus Evora is about ready. The first four-seater Lotus in an age (although it’s really a 2+2, and then only if you pay extra for the rear seats), the Evora has a mid-engined 3.5 litre V6 Toyota lump, fettled and sorted by Lotus to produce 276bhp.

First Jaguar F-Type customer cars leave Jaguar’s Castle Bromwich

Fri, 10 May 2013

The first proper sports car from Jaguar since the E-Type ended production almost 40 years ago (and it could be argued the later V12 E-Types were more a GT than a proper sports car), the F-Type is a hook to hang Jaguar’s future intent on – and it seems to be making a pretty good fist of it. It may not be cheap (you’ll pay £80k for a V8 F-Type) and it may be heavier than its lightweight aluminium underpinnings promise, but it looks great, goes very well and seems to have proper Jaguar ‘Soul’. A winning combination.
