January’s top 10 best-selling cars: in pictures

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) has released the UK car sales figures for January 2014 – and they represent an excellent start to the new year. There were 154,562 new cars registered last month – a 7.6% rise over January 2013, continuing the run of buyer confidence that saw overall sales reach a six-year high last year. BMW 328 Hommage (2011) revealed at Villa d'Este

This is the BMW 328 Hommage, a concept car which made its debut at the 2011 Villa d'Este Concours. The BMW 328 Hommage has been created to celebrate the 75th anniversary of BMW's 328 sports car, which was one of the featured classic cars at the Villa d'Este Concours.  BMW 328 Hommage: Where have I seen that shape before? Commentary: Victoria Beckham appointed Creative Design Executive at Range Rover

On hearing that Victoria Beckham (aka Posh Spice) had become Range Rover's Creative Design Executive last week, initial reaction was to check the date – was it April 1st? Apparently Land Rover wasn't fooling anybody, instead sending shockwaves through the automotive industry with the announcement, made at the unveiling of the Evoque at Kensington Palace, London. Celebrity brand tie-ups are nothing new – Justin Timberlake is currently the Audi A1's brand ambassador – yet the implication is that Beckham's involvement with Range Rover will go much further.
