This matched pair of wide flute 12 volt Tung-Sol headlamps are the large 7" size used in cars and trucks with the two headlamp system.  Produced from 1953 to 1959, they are the heavy duty version of the 5400 and were eventually replaced by the 6013.  They were advertised variously as "rough service", "heavy duty", "truck and bus", and "long-life" and have a beefed-up, reinforced filament (see last pic) that 5400 and 6012 bulbs did not.  Since all of the OEM manufacturers were using center logo bulbs from 1956 (or earlier) into the beginning of the 1961 model year, consider these as excellent alternatives to the very-hard-to-find 5400 and center logo 6012.

The three aimer buttons (also known as "aiming points", "aiming platforms", "nubbins", and "gizmoes") were introduced by the industry in 1955, so the bulbs for sale here are not ideal for vehicles produced before that.

This is my last set.

VW Polo facelift (2014) first official pictures

Tue, 28 Jan 2014

By Ollie Kew First Official Pictures 28 January 2014 10:00 Subtle facelift hides bigger changes underneath This is the new VW Polo to face-off the Ford Fiesta and Vauxhall Corsa. The irony in this car arriving stems from the trouble that the German maker has faced in the US – where VW board members have blamed long model cycles with minor facelifts such as this – as the reason why sales fell and its North America boss stepped down late last year. At least the new Polo brings some welcome changes under that barely-changed sheetmetal.

Single-seat Colibri electric vehicle set for 2015 launch

Thu, 13 Mar 2014

If the 2014 Geneva Motor Show heralded the dawn of a new age of small cars, then the tiny Innovative Mobility Automobile (IMA) Colibri is well placed to take advantage of this new era. The Colibri – which means hummingbird – is a small, single-seat, three-door electric vehicle that’s set to go on sale later this year. Prices for the entry-level Colibri are set to fall well below €10,000 (£8,340) plus battery rental charges, meaning it could go head-to-head with the likes of the new Citroen C1, Peugeot 108 and Toyota Aygo.
