Up for auction is a GM original 265 cubic inch 4 barrel V8 engine for a 1956 Chevrolet passenger car. The numbers matching engine was removed from a very low mileage '56 in 1971. This auction is for exactly what is pictured. The engine turns freely and was never seized up. The casting date on the Towanda (FB) block is June of 1956. This motor is NOT correct for a '56 Corvette. All '56 Corvettes were Flint, Michigan produced blocks. This GM factory optional motor will need rebuilt; but when completed it will add significant dollar value to your '56 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible, Nomad, or Hardtop.
