1956 DESOTO HUBCAP (SIMILAR TO 1954)

THESE  CAPS ARE GETTING HARDER TO FIND AND REALLY COOL TO DISPLAY IN THE TRUNK IF YOU ARE RUNNING CUSTOM WHEELS.  WONDERFUL CAR WALL ART TOO FROM A TIME WHEN U.S. MANUFACTURES ACTUALLY STYLED THEIR OFFERINGS WITH UNIQUENSS.

ON TO THE DESCRIPTION.  THIS IS AN UNRESTORED CAP THAT IS IN PRETTY GOOD OVERALL CONDITION.  IT SUFFERS FROM TYPICAL WEAR INCLUDING A FEW DINGS, BB TO FINGERPRINT IN SIZE AND SOME SURFACE SCRATCHES.  MUCH OF THIS AROUND THE OUTER EDGE. OVERALL FOR A CAP OF THIS AGE THERE IS NOT VERY MUCH OF THIS.  THE MOST NOTICEABLE ISSUE IS THE DING AT THE CENTER OF THE CAP, GIVING IT THE PATINA THAT  ONLY FATHER TIME AND MOTHER NATURE PROVIDE.  THAT SAID THESE ORIGINAL HUBCAPS ARE DIFFICULT TO FIND.   ANYWAY, IT'S NOT PERFECT FRIENDS, NONE OF THESE OLD CAPS ARE.  HOWEVER IT IS A REASONABLY PRICED, FAIRLY GOOD, UNRESTORED EXAMPLE THAT WOULD SERVE MANY OWNERS WELL.    PLEASE LOOK AT THE PICS CLOSELY AND USE THE ZOOM FEATURE BEFORE BIDDING.

COOL EXAMPLE FROM A DAY GONE BY.  ON A SCALE OF 1-5 WITH 5 AS THE HIGH, BASED ON AGE, RARITY & CONDITION I RATE IT A 3.

ONE OTHER COMMENT, WE SPENT A SEVERAL WEEKENDS AT SOME OF THE LARGEST SWAP MEETS IN THE MIDWEST OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS.  HUNDREDS OF VENDORS, THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE AND NONE OF THESE.  TAKE A CLOSE LOOK AT THEM.  WE ALSO ATTEND BARRETT JACKSON AND MECUM AUCTIONS REGULARLY. THE POINT IS THIS.  ONLY THE FINEST AND ULTRA EXPENSIVE CARS SEEM TO HAVE PERFECT TRIM.

I try to be honest about what I sell.  Almost all of these old hubcaps have imperfections.  Unless you are willing to spend hundreds for a set the best you can do are look for those in decent shape which these are.

WE SHIP ALL OVER THE WORLD!

WE COMBINE SHIPPING AND HANDLING ON MULTIPLE ITEMS TOO.

These old car parts are becoming more and more scarce.  After 10 years of selling over a 7000 items we've come to this conclusion.   If we can't sell the parts for a reasonable price, we're going to warehouse them. This is especially true of the nice parts and more unusual parts.  All they can do is go up in value.  Our point is this.  We've got the space and the means to collect and store what we sell.  Having said that don't be surprised if we run an item only once or twice and if it doesn't sell it doesn't show back up.  Please don't misunderstand us.  We want and do appreciate your business.  It just doesn't make sense to us to spend time and money relisting items over and over when almost all of these parts have only one way to go in the future.  UP.

PLEASE NOTE:  DUE TO SEVERAL NON-PAYERS WE HAVE ADDED THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT MEANT FOR THOSE TYPE OF BIDDERS.  WHILE THE VAST MAJORITY OF BUYERS PAY FOR WHAT THEY BID ON, WE HAVE RECENTLY SEEN A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN UNPAID ITEMS.  SO>>>IF YOU PLAN ON BIDDING PLEASE PLAN ON PAYING.   THANKS.  HAPPY BIDDING.

Jaguar to build six brand-new E-Types

Wed, 14 May 2014

Well this is a bit of a shock: Jaguar has announced that it is to start building the E-Type again, after production ceased in 1975. So much for the new F-Type proving popular… No, Jaguar hasn’t gone mad. It’s actually building six re-creation 'Lightweight' E-Types, with the aim of selling them to wealthy historic racing enthusiasts.
