Peugeot BB1 concept
Fri, 25 Sep 2009Peugeot BB1 concept was one of the more interesting surprises of the 2009 Frankfurt motor show. Capable of accommodating four people in a package only 2.5 meters long, the all-electric BB1 concept seeks to reinvent the car in every respect: architecture, style, interior design, driveability and connectivity, bringing the environment very much to the fore. Conveying values of freedom and optimism, and even 'altruism', the BB1 concept offers the promise of a new driving experience, wrapped in an altogether fresh and intriguing package.
Tesco Cars shuts up shop
Tue, 03 Apr 2012Tesco Cars closed for business A year after launching Tesco Cars in conjunction with Carsite, Tesco reveals it is to close the used car operation. Tue, 04 Nov 2008British 'car artist' Andy Saunders' 'Art Car' collection was sold by RM Auctions in London, UK on October 29, along with a selection of classic cars and a McLaren F1 that sold for £2.5 million - a new world record. Though lacking the quality of many Californian custom cars when seen close up, the Art Cars were fascinating to see, and unlike other custom car creators, Saunders has made almost all of the cars for himself; conceiving and creating the cars without any design process beyond thinking them through and getting his hands dirty in evenings after work. Each of the cars introduced new themes not evident in their donor designs and, within the context of many salubrious but established classic car designs at the auction, they had a powerful quixotic appeal. So why is he selling them?
