1956 Studebaker Hawk Head Lamp Switch #1540135 Golden Sky Power Flight on 2040-parts.com
Sorrento, Florida, United States
Part # 1540135 Headlamp Switch for all 1956 Golden, Sky, Power, and Flight Hawk models. This is a NOS switch that probably has never been out of the box. I had a hard time opening the box without ripping the flap, and the unit was in so tight it would hardly slide out of the box.
I bought this for a spare in the 1980s and stored it in a closet in the house ever since. Never subjected to extreme hot and cold temperature changes. All the instrument switches for 1956 Hawk models are different in appearance than those used on later model Hawks. Although this would probably work OK on a later model Hawk, it would be a shame to use this one for that purpose. Be sure to add me to your favorites list! Check out my other items! |

Brabus GLK V12 at Dubai
Sat, 12 Dec 2009The 750bhp Brabus GLK V12 I hold my hand up and say I am a fan of quick SUVs. It may seem a bit of an oxymoron, but some SUVs – like the Porsche Cayenne Turbo – do a very good job of being all things. Fun sports car; load carrier; junk mover and just about anything else you want.
Planning continues for driverless cars
Thu, 13 Mar 2014OFFICIALS in California have been looking to the future as they bid to legislate for the arrival of hi-tech driver-less cars. A law passed in 2012 set a deadline of the end of this year for the state's Department of Motor Vehicles to decide how to legally integrate the so-called autonomous vehicles - which were once the stuff of science fiction but could be commercially available by the end of the decade. The latest talks on the matter among roads officials focused on how the vehicles will record actions so the data can be used to reconstruct an accident in an effort to trace the cause.
Lexus GS-F coming. Says Lexus. Apparently
Sun, 05 Dec 2010Lexus GS from SEMA. The Lexus GS-F won't be so OTT You’ll forgive us for the less than assertive headline, we hope. Because we’ve been hearing from lots of places – our sources and the sources of others – that Lexus are going to endow its GS with a serious amount of V8 grunt (actually, the last report we ran was that Lexus were giving the GS a V10) to take on the uber-exec expresses from the Germans (and the XFR) and create a Lexus GS-F.
