1957 1958 Ford Ranchero Tail Gate Latch Striker - May Fit Edsel? Mercury? Wagon? on 2040-parts.com
Van Nuys, California, US
A set of Ford Ranchero tailgate latches. These definately fit 1958 Rancheros. They are newly cast out of potmetal just like the originals. These usually take quite a beating over the years and replacing them may eliminate/reduce squeeks and rattles as well as contribute to the tailgate closing more solidly. They are directional and there is a left one and a right one. They will fit SOME 1957 Rancheros, they are shaped similarly to the latches found in the doorjambs, but only have two holes and are specific to the tailgate. Some 1957 rancheros have a wedge shaped tailgate latch, these WILL NOT work with those cars! Thank you for looking!

Fri, 29 Nov 2013Just over 12% of men think that some beautiful cars can look better than women, according to a new survey commissioned by Volvo in collaboration with brainwave monitoring specialists MyndPlay. The study analysed the electronic brain signals of respondents to measure the effect car design has on the human mind – and the results are very interesting… On Bing: see pictures of beautiful car design The most beautiful cars of all time In the interest of balance, women were also asked how they rank an attractive male compared to a good-looking car. The outcome showed one third (33%) of females asked actually rated images of impressive car design higher than pictures of an attractive man.
BMW reveals ferocious new M3 and M4
Thu, 12 Dec 2013IF YOU’RE no fan of Top Gear-style wheel-spinning, tyre-smoking oversteer, then it’s probably best to look away now, because BMW has unveiled the new M3 and M4. Essentially the same car underneath, the main differences come in the number of doors and the suspension settings, with the M3 built as a four-door, slightly more forgiving saloon and the M4 as a harder-edged two-door coupe. But both will go very sideways, if that’s the sort of thing that revs your engine, thanks to a shared 425bhp six-cylinder engine that sends all that juicy power to the rear wheels.
Project Car Hell, Air-Cooled Inferno Edition: oval-window Beetle or Type 34 Karmann Ghia?
Tue, 15 Apr 2014Here we are in the Automotive Lake of Fire again, and we feel compelled to follow up a couple of marginal-classic Fiat projects with a pair of indisputable classic Volkswagens. After Ferdinand Porsche appropriated the basic design for the original Beetle from Tatra designer Hans Ledwinka (but before Tatra successfully sued Volkswagen), Volkswagen turned one innovative rear-engined vehicle platform into quite a lineup of cars and trucks. These days, while some types of air-cooled VW projects are cheap and plentiful, the rarer ones are much-sought-after and tough to find in semi-restorable condition.
