The McLaren 650S is quicker than the legendary McLaren F1
Thu, 27 Feb 2014We know what the McLaren 650S looks like thanks to photos that leaked ahead of the Geneva motor show debut, and now we know how the hopped-up, track-oriented take on the MP4 should perform. According to McLaren, the 650S has a 0-62 mph time of just 3.0 seconds. 0-124 mph takes 8.4 seconds; a quarter mile flies by in 10.5 seconds.
One in five suffers 'car envy'
Tue, 21 Jan 2014DRIVERS in the UK are more likely to give way to classic or unusual cars such as a Citroen 2CV or Volkswagen Beetle, but one in five also admits they are less likely to be courteous to large 4x4s due to car envy, according to a survey. Nearly a half (47%) of UK motorists say they leave more space between their car and the one in front if the car ahead is driven by an elderly driver. Others (5%) admit to trying to slow down boy racers if they see the driver is wearing a baseball cap and is a young male.
Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake for Geneva debut
Mon, 24 Feb 2014This leaked photo seems to be a new Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake It seems Ian Callum was right all along about an XFR Sportbrake – it now looks like Jaguar are about to go one step further than an XFR Estate with a Full Monty Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake. When Jaguar revealed the XF Sportbrake two years ago they said there would be no four-wheel-drive variants and no XFR Sportbrake either (even though Ian Callum said in 2011 there would be an XFR Sportbrake), so for the last two yeare we’ve had just diesel engine options for the XF Sportbrake. But not for much longer it would seem.
