Rolls-Royce boss Tom Purves has revealed he wants to build an electric Phantom By Gavin Green Motoring Issues 23 October 2008 11:21 Rolls-Royce CEO Tom Purves would like to make an electric-powered Phantom. ‘Many of our customers do small mileages exclusively in the city,’ says Purves, who took over the helm of BMW-owned Rolls-Royce in July 2008. ‘For these customers, an electric Rolls-Royce would be ideal.’Purves has just driven the new electric Mini, which debuts at next month’s Los Angeles auto show, and was ‘bowled over by it.

Microsoft Subaru unveiled a pair of newcomers at the 2013 Los Angeles Motor Show - a red-hot WRX fast saloon (above) and a concept car depicting the next Legacy (below). The WRX is a Subaru performance icon, but has been around the block a few times in recent years. First it was a four-door blue and gold rally hero, then it became a sensible hatchback.

Winners announced in Chinese Auto Design Awards 2011

Winners in the fourth Chinese Auto Design Awards have finally been announced. Held at the China Agriculture Film and Television Center in Beijing, the glamourous ceremony saw awards given to two groups; students and automotive manufacturers. Amongst the automotive groups, it was GAC Trumpchi that was awarded the ‘Best Design Innovation Award', whilst Buick's picked up the ‘Golden Dot Award' for its ‘Envision' concept car.
