NO SHIPPING. This is a 1957 Buick nailhead 364" motor. The engine is just about complete. Includes intake and exhaust manifolds, distributor, water pump, 2 groove lower pulley on the balancer, oil filter can. At one time it had been rebuilt, and has very low running time on it. I bought it assembled, and had it for a long time. I finally took it apart to see what was inside and found the following. The crank, rod and piston assembly had been balanced. There has been a lot of work done on the crank, including some welding and Mallory metal added for balancing purposes. The crank was cut .010 on the mains, .020 on the rods. No spun bearings anywhere. The timing chain and gears were replaced. The cam and lifters are in good shape also. There is still a crown on the bottom of the lifters. The water pump was replaced too. The inside of the block and the cylinder heads are clean as a whistle. The heads have been rebuilt. There is no carbon, grease or rust on them anywhere. Everything moves free, no stuck parts. Pistons swing nice on the rods, rings all move around. Lifters all moved nicely in their bores and came out easily. Has Victor steel shim head gaskets. One piston has a crack in it, in the lower skirt area, and the block has a small shallow groove between two front cylinders on the passenger side. So the block will need to be decked a small amount. Maybe about 5 or 6 thousandths. It doesn't look to bad. There are pictures of these particular things with all the other photos. So it's going to need decking, at least one piston, and gaskets. I would hone it and put rings in it, but use everything else. Cam, lifters, bearings, oil pump, timing chain, leave the heads alone, and assemble it. The casting numbers are as follows: The crank I couldn't quite make all the numbers out on it, but looks like 1173341, HEADS 1172889, Camshaft 1362241, Connecting rods, 1173217, Pistons 1173195. Engine is located in the Bridgeport neighborhood on the s/w side of Chicago. Thank you.

TOTAL ROAD CLOSURES may be necessary as the extreme winter weather has left councils struggling to maintain routes, according to a local government chief. One council - Cornwall - said it was being "starved of resources" and was considering stopping maintenance of rural roads. But the Department for Transport said billions of pounds were being provided for local highways maintenance and it was the responsibility of authorities to cope with severe weather.

GM fires engineers, executives after ignition switch recall probe

Thu, 05 Jun 2014

Update: New story containing new information, additional details of terminations added. General Motors has dismissed 15 employees, including at least eight executives, after an internal investigation found “a pattern of incompetence and neglect” that led to 11 years of delays in recalling millions of cars for a fatal defect, CEO Mary Barra said today. Barra promised that the company would address future safety issues far differently, warning employees that failing to report risks would make them “part of the problem” and even inviting them to contact her directly if they couldn't get potential defects addressed themselves.

First U.S. Audi TT RS delivered in Fort Worth

Thu, 28 Jul 2011

Ex Grand-Am driver Don Istook from Fort Worth, Texas, is the lucky customer who took delivery of the first Audi TT RS model on U.S. shores since the 2008 Audi RS4. Istook was one of the 11,500 fans who signed the petition to bring the TT RS here, so it's only fitting that he gets one of the early copies.
