DESCRIPTION
This is a new reproduction oil dipstick indicator for the 1957 Cadillacs with the 365 cubic inch engine.  These are hand made to look and work like the original indicator.    They are for the proper 7/16 tube size that we also make and is sold separately or in a set with a discount. This is just the indicator.

The handle is the same style loop, with the proper dimensions on top. The tube stop is the same. The split friction portion has been replaced with the waves to add strength and lower tooling costs.  The FULL and ADD indicators are clearly marked (the size and font may vary slightly as we use common stamps for all years to reduce tooling costs) These are made from 1075 spring steel and then heat treated to resist bending as the originals. This is a very difficult and labor intensive project to undertake but we feel the results are worth the effort.

Indicators vary widely throughout the fifties and sixties as do the tubes that go in the engine. The year of the engine and more importantly the oil pan used will determine the indicator needed.

PARTS CARS
Chip is occasionally looking for 1950-1970 Cadillac’s that we can use for parts. We prefer cars with complete drive trains, condition of bodies, glass, and interior are secondary.  We are located near Detroit and prefer cars in the upper Midwest. We also buy complete engine assemblies.  If you are selling or know of a reasonably priced car please feel free to contact us.

Because of storage limitations we do not inventory, sheetmetal, seats, glass, interior door panels, and frames. If we do run across these items in usable condition they will be listed and sold.

BMW PAS concept (2009) teaser video

Fri, 30 Jan 2009

By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 30 January 2009 11:15 This is BMW’s first video tease of its new PAS concept, which will be unveiled at the Geneva motor show on 3 March 2009. Unfortunately the video only features cartoon drawings and a narration that explains why BMW boffins think the PAS is a good idea. Worryingly, by the end of the video the PAS actually starts to make (a little) sense.

You don't have to wait until 2011 to go topless in a Camaro

Fri, 21 Aug 2009

Spending $16,000 or more to make a Camaro into a Camaro convertible isn't a rational decision, but we can certainly understand people wanting one. We drove the concept version of this car from Chevrolet two years ago ("Top This!" AW, July 2, 2007) and loved it. Back then, Chevrolet planned to release a convertible version of the new Camaro in November 2009, but an economic cliff intervened, pushing production to the second quarter of 2011.
