Bentley SUV engines revealed
Mon, 23 Apr 2012Bentley SUV engines will include a V6 Hybrid The Bentley SUV is at the Beijing Motor Show unchanged, but Bentley has now revealed its likely powertrains. You have to wonder if Bentley regrets revealing their EXP 9 F – the Bentley SUV – at Geneva in the Spring? Few seem to object too strongly to the idea of Bentley making an SUV – it’s a money-maker, after all – but the consensus was that Bentley had failed to present a convincing concept.
Chinese Grand Prix (2013) RESULT
Sun, 14 Apr 2013Qualifying for the 2013 Chinese Grand Prix produced a fascinating grid, with three former world champions at the front on soft tyres, two more world champions lurking down the grid on mediums – hoping a different strategy would see them rise to the top – and Red Bull’s Mark Webber starting from the pit lane after running out of fuel in qualifying. And the three world champions who started at the front – Hamilton in the Mercedes, Raikkonen in the Lotus and Alonso in the Ferrari – did indeed make it to the podium, but not in the order they started. Alonso had a cracking start, overtaking Raikkonen for second place at the start and taking Hamilton for the lead by lap five, but stopped two laps later to change his softs for mediums and coming out behind Vettel and Button, who had started on mediums, and Hulkenberg.
Hyundai Veloster Turbo Confirmed
Tue, 01 Nov 2011Hyundai Veloster to get new 204bhp Turbo When Hyundai revealed details of the Veloster Coupe – the successor to the successful Hyundai Coupe – we found lots we liked and, really, just on thing we didn’t – its paucity of power. All the new Veloster had to offer was the 138bhp 1.6 litre GDI petrol which, although quite frugal, didn’t exactly light a fire of desire for the Veloster in the way we would have liked. So when we reported a couple of weeks ago that Hyundai had revealed a couple of new engines in Korea – a 204bhp turbo and a 150bhp diesel – we rather hoped that Hyundai would see fit to bolt both in to the Veloster sooner rather than later.
