58 OLDSMOBILE HUBCAPS

THESE  CAPS ARE GETTING HARDER TO FIND AND REALLY COOL TO DISPLAY IN THE TRUNK IF YOU ARE RUNNING CUSTOM WHEELS. PLEASE READ ALL OF THE DESCRIPTION AND LOOK AT ALL OF THE PICTURES CLOSELY BEFORE BIDDING.

ON TO THE DESCRIPTION.  THESE ARE UNRESTORED CAPS THAT ARE IN GOOD OVERALL CONDITION.   ON TO THE DESCRIPTION.  THERE ARE TWO 14' CAPS. THEY ARE NICE LOOKING CAPS BUT EACH HAS LITTLE DINGS, BB TO FINGERPRINT IN SIZE AND PAINT DETERIORATION.  ONE IS BLACK CENTERED AND THE OTHER IS AQUA. SEE PICS.  ONE HAS THE SMALLER MOUNTING TEETH AND ONE HAS THE LARGER.  NOT SURPRISING AS GM USED DIFFERENT VENDORS AND HAD MANUFACTURING CHANGES ALONG THE WAY. LOOK CLOSELY.  WHILE NOT BARRETT JACKSON CAPS THEY ARE TWO OF THE BETTER 58 OLDS CAPS WE HAVE COME ACROSS,  WE HONESTLY DON'T FIND THESE MUCH ANY MORE.   SO PLEASE LOOK AT THE PICS CAREFULLY AND DECIDE IF THEY ARE RIGHT FOR YOU. THEY ARE NOT PERFECT FRIENDS, NONE OF THESE OLD CAPS ARE.  HOWEVER THEY ARE REASONABLY PRICED, GOOD, UNRESTORED EXAMPLES THAT WOULD SERVE MANY OWNERS WELL.

COOL EXAMPLE FROM A DAY GONE BY.  ON A SCALE OF 1-5 WITH 5 AS THE HIGH, BASED ON AGE, RARITY & CONDITION I RATE THEM A 3 +++.

ONE OTHER COMMENT, WE SPENT A SEVERAL WEEKENDS AT SOME OF THE LARGEST SWAP MEETS IN THE MIDWEST OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS.  HUNDREDS OF VENDORS, THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE AND NONE OF THESE.  TAKE A CLOSE LOOK AT THEM.  WE ALSO ATTEND BARRETT JACKSON AND MECUM AUCTIONS REGULARLY. THE POINT IS THIS.  ONLY THE FINEST AND ULTRA EXPENSIVE CARS SEEM TO HAVE PERFECT TRIM.

I try to be honest about what I sell.  Almost all of these old hubcaps have imperfections.  Unless you are willing to spend hundreds for a set the best you can do are look for those in decent shape which this is.

WE SHIP ALL OVER THE WORLD!

WE COMBINE SHIPPING AND HANDLING ON MULTIPLE ITEMS TOO.

These old car parts are becoming more and more scarce.  After 10 plus years of selling over a 8000 items we've come to this conclusion.   If we can't sell the parts for a reasonable price, we're going to warehouse them. This is especially true of the nice parts and more unusual parts.  All they can do is go up in value.  Our point is this.  We've got the space and the means to collect and store what we sell.  Having said that don't be surprised if we run an item only once or twice and if it doesn't sell it doesn't show back up.  Please don't misunderstand us.  We want and do appreciate your business.  It just doesn't make sense to us to spend time and money relisting items over and over when almost all of these parts have only one way to go in the future.  UP.

PLEASE NOTE:  DUE TO SEVERAL NON-PAYERS WE HAVE ADDED THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT MEANT FOR THOSE TYPE OF BIDDERS.  WHILE THE VAST MAJORITY OF BUYERS PAY FOR WHAT THEY BID ON, WE HAVE RECENTLY SEEN A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN UNPAID ITEMS.  SO>>>IF YOU PLAN ON BIDDING PLEASE PLAN ON PAYING.   THANKS.  HAPPY BIDDING.

Sat, 02 Apr 2011

Bugatti Galibier will be built Well, I’ll go to the foot of our stairs, as my dad would have said. The Bugatti Galibier is going to get built and arrive in 2013. No less a source than Bloomberg says so.

One Lap of the Web: Jaguar F-Type, Baja 1000 and how the Mustang became Boss

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

We spend a lot of time on the Internet -- pretty much whenever we're not driving, writing about or working on cars. Since there's more out there than we'd ever be able to cover, here's our daily digest of car stuff on the Web you may not otherwise have heard about. -- Silodrome reminds us of a 1995 documentary called "Dust to Glory" on the Baja 1000 desert race.

Peugeot SR1 Concept revealed

Sat, 09 Jan 2010

The Peugeot SR1 Concept will debit at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show Peugeot are redefining themselves as the ‘Sporty’ part of the PSA partnership, leaving Citroen to go the ‘Luxury’ route. And so far they’re making a pretty credible job of things if the Peugeot RCZ is anything to go by. But the Peugeot SR1 Concept they’ve just revealed takes them on a big leap, no mistake.
