Here is a 1959, 60 Chevy speedometer that we have reconditioned. It has been cleaned, gears greased, movements lubricated with synthetic watch oil which is not affected by temperature nor does it get sticky with age, odometer is very nice and has been reset to 000000, the pointer repainted with the original fluorescent orange, and the back case cleaned and painted inside and out. The pointer moves freely and responds smoothly when the speedometer was bench tested from zero thru 120 mph. Both the lens and bezel have been cleaned and polished. The front chrome trim ring is very, very nice. The lens is clear, no cracks and the numbers are very sharp. This speedometer looks great and is ready to install. Mon, 05 Oct 2009The blues and twos on a Mitsubishi MiEV It appears that since Mitsubishi took the MiEV to the National Police Show last month they’ve been inundated with requests from Police Forces around the UK to test the car. With it’s top speed of 81 mph and range of 100 miles we can’t quite see the MiEV being used as a pursuit car. In fact the only place it would be of any use is in town, but for what it’s worth we’d much rather see plod pounding the beat than floating around in a Noddy-Mobile.
Chevrolet Spark EV tops EPA's fuel-economy rankings for 2014
Thu, 05 Dec 2013The 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV has been named the most fuel-efficient vehicle by the EPA and the Department of Energy in a new ranking for 2014. The Spark EV returns a combined 119 mpg equivalent, achieving 128 mpg in the city and 109 mpg on the highway. Chevrolet's pure-electric hatch displaced last year's chart topper, the Scion 2013 iQ EV, with its 121 mpg equivalent rating, but the Scion is not offered for the 2014 model year, so it didn't make the list for the U.S.
Alfa Romeo 4C finally on sale in 2013?
Mon, 29 Oct 2012It seems the Alfa Romeo 4C may finally arrive in production guise at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, and on sale soon after. First seen at the Geneva Motor Show in 2011 – when we expected it to go on sale in 2012 – the 4C has been rolled out by Alfa Romeo a few times since – even complete with ‘teasers’ when all that had changed was the colour – to keep up interest in a car that holds much promise but didn’t seem to be heading anywhere. But now, according to Autocar, Alfa Romeo has confirmed that a production version of the Alfa 4C will arrive at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show before going on sale – at least in Europe – later in the year.
