DESCRIPTION The handle is the same style loop, with the proper dimensions on top. The tube stop is the same. The split friction portion has been replaced with the waves to add strength and lower tooling costs. The FULL and ADD indicators are clearly marked (the size and font may vary slightly as we use common stamps for all years to reduce tooling costs) These are made from 1075 spring steel and then heat treated to resist bending as the originals. This is a very difficult and labor intensive project to undertake but we feel the results are worth the effort. Indicators vary widely throughout the fifties and sixties as do the tubes that go in the engine. The year of the engine and more importantly the oil pan used will determine the indicator needed. Dipstick tubes are sold separately or in a set at a discount in my store.

Sat, 22 Jan 2011Friday's auction results from the four major auction houses continue on a strong streak, with sales reports topping even optimistic pre-event estimates. RM Auctions completed its second and final day of sales in Phoenix, posting results totaling an estimated $30.6 million, a record-high amount for this event. The Canadian-based company also garnered the most talked about sale of the day, a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL steel-bodied "Gullwing" that sold for $1.375 million.
Chrysler is set to invest $500 million in Toledo Jeep assembly plant
Wed, 16 Nov 2011Chrysler Group plans to invest $500 million in its Toledo North Assembly Plant and hire a second shift of workers over the next year to build a new Fiat-based SUV for Jeep, as well as other vehicles. "This plant has been chosen to build the future Jeep SUV to replace the current Jeep Liberty that will be exported to markets all over the world," CEO Sergio Marchionne said at the plant Wednesday. "Jeep is at the heart of our plans to internationalize Chrysler, a process which is being accelerated by Chrysler's access to Fiat's distribution capabilities in Europe and Latin America." Toledo North is Chrysler's only assembly plant with only one shift of workers.
Kia and BMW claim 2012 Red Dot Design Awards
Wed, 14 Mar 2012Kia and BMW have been recognized by the 2012 Red Dot Design Awards judging panel, picking up the ‘best-of-best' awards in the transportation product design category. The awards, handed out March 15, single out the best-designed products from over 4,000 entries across a variety of categories. Kia's A-segment Picanto and B-segment Rio were both winners in Red Dot's ‘Product Design' category, fighting off competition from over 4,500 products entered by 1,800 manufacturers from 58 countries.
