Ford will have driving simulators at this year's auto shows, and the person who records the fastest time will get a trip to ESPN's summer X Games. The difference at Frankfurt is that the already teased EV from Audi isn’t another in the seemingly endless iteration of e-Tron, instead we’re to get an electric car with a proper Audi tag – the Audi A2 Concept EV. The shame is that Audi seem to have abandoned the range extender route they displayed with the Audi A1 e-Tron – a small Wankel engine in the boot to charge the batteries – and have instead gone down the costly cul-de-sac of a pure EV in the A2.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk took to Twitter Thursday to respond to Chrysler's barb that Tesla wasn't the first American automaker to repay the U.S. government for aid. Tesla, which paid off the remaining $451.8 million on its 2010 Department of Energy loan Wednesday, received $465 million under the highly politicized Advanced Technology Vehicle Manufacturing loan program.
