Solid SW sheetmetal Tailgate bought in California. Minor damage below right taillight, needs minor welding on the side--otherwise an excellent used tailgate.
Brand:Chevrolet- Delco Warranty:No Placement on Vehicle:Rear Country/Region of Manufacture:United States Surface Finish:blasted steel

Solid California Tailgate from a 1959 Chevrolet Station Wagon For Sale.  This is just the shell, no other parts.  It had minor damage below the right taillight from delivery, needs minor welding to clean it up.  Left corner was straightened too, only needs minor filling. I sand-blasted the exterior of the tailgate to raw steel.  I sand-blasted the inside bottom as well.  I did some minor straightening to the taillight area so anyone doing minor filling work will fix this perfectly--taillight area is still flat.  Nothing major here considering how difficult it is to find a solid tailgate. The bottom of this gate has no holes in it, the bottom is thick--double wall thick.  The inside (interior) of the gate normally has a steel sheet over it, and that actually causes the interior panel to rust from rain and silt that builds up between the gate and panel. And this one was on the ground awhile.  While there are a few small holes in the interior of the gate, most is covered by the panel, some shows (I showed it in a photo)---will need to be welded in spots---but only a small area of the inside shows when you put a new sheet of steel over it.    I have not primered the gate it is ready for repair and finishing, or the bodyshop.   While I am able to ship this item it is heavy and bulky, the farther away you are the more packing I have to use---the larger the box will have to be.  I am making it available for pick-up only for the auction.  If you want it shipped that will be determined and billed at that time.  You will be paying for packing and shipping--whatever the actual cost.  They usually cost upwards of $150 to ship and I only use fedex.  I'd prefer local pick-up I live in the St. Paul/ Minneapolis area.  Shipping is your call.  Get the hard-to-find tailgate while you can, Wagon only---can be modified easily for El Camino.  I have extra parts should you need at extra cost:  Perfect aftermarket lower outer tailgate skin, southern rustfree window assys, extra glass (loose), random parts should you be missing something. I also have a dented/ repairable tailgate lower price.  Larry 651.488.4890.

Audi S3 (2012) first official pictures

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

Audi has revealed official pictures of the new S3 ahead of its debut at the 2012 Paris motor show. Audi should know what matters when it comes to hot-hatches, with two generations of S3s occupying a 13-year stretch of Audi history. On first impressions, the new model’s restrained styling fits well with the S3’s history of subtle sporting luxury rather than out-and-out hot hatch thuggery.

Renault Kwid Concept is a bonkers baby SUV

Wed, 05 Feb 2014

The Renault Kwid Concept (pictured) comes with its own flying drone There are concepts of new cars where you can clearly see they’re heading for production, and then there are concepts that look like the designers have been allowed to go berserk with little though to an eventual production car. The new Renault Kwid falls firmly in the latter. Said to be aimed at younger buyers in emerging markets – and designed with Renault’s designers in India – the Kwid Concept comes with a conventional 1.2 litre petrol engine and dual-clutch box – and can take the ZOE’s EV powertrain – but that’s seems to be where any connection with reality ends.

Rinspeed iChange concept (2009): first pics and video

Mon, 16 Feb 2009

By Alex Michaelides First Official Pictures 16 February 2009 13:00 The boffins at Swiss automotive madhouse Rinspeed – the people behind the Lotus Elise-based sQuba submarine – have announced their latest exercise in Geneva motor show lunacy: the iChange, a concept car that changes shape to accommodate different numbers of passengers. Unlike its aquatic stablemate, the new Rinspeed iChange is strictly meant for dry land, but it does continue the company’s trend of battery-powered exotica, using three lithium-ion power packs. The iChange has radical bodywork that changes the car’s format.
