1959 Ford Galaxie Emblems

Nice old set!  Pretty sure these are for a 1959 based on photos and research.  Not a motor head, so please ask questions for details.  Each is approximately 12 1/2" long and a little over 1 1/2" high at tallest point on G.  All mounting pins are intact (4 on each emblem)!  A little tarnishing and minor pitting.  Polish them up and put them on your toy.  Not sure what model they go on.

On the back side of each, in the second "a" is a Ford emblem.  In the back of the "l" is a number 2 on one piece and a 3 in the other.  On the back side of the first "a" is a symbol that reminds me of a mason insignia.  Kind of like a triangle, with a "C" on the bottom edge, and a "T" that crosses the top two lines at the point.

I think there are part numbers in the very tail of each piece in the back.  Not positive, but this is what I think they are... hard to read.

Even in a world recently introduced to the Ferrari LaFerrari  (sold out), McLaren P1 (sold out) and Porsche 918 Spyder (er… ) hypercars, boutique Swedish supercar maker Koenigsegg has just made an extraordinary announcement. At the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, it will reveal the Agera One:1 – which Koenigsegg has dubbed the world’s first "megacar". Thing is, having looked at the spec, we believe it.

Wiedeking to be offered $140 million to quit Porsche, report says

Fri, 17 Jul 2009

Porsche CEO Wendelin Wiedeking could be offered a $141 million (100 million euros) payoff to quit the sports car maker to make way for a merger with Volkswagen, Germany's Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper reported Friday. The newspaper said Wiedeking has been visited by Porsche Chairman Wolfgang Porsche in the past few days, who “made it clear” that the embattled CEO should step down. Wiedeking has come under fire for allowing Porsche's holding company to amass debts of more than $12.7 billion (9 billion euros) during a failed attempt to take over VW.

Detroit auto show 2012 - a video review of the NAIAS

Wed, 11 Jan 2012

It's CAR's traditional three wise-ish men in a car video review of the 2012 North American International Auto Show. Hear the analysis from our European editor Georg Kacher, contributing editor Ben Oliver and anchorman associate editor Tim Pollard, as they chew over the new cars, surprises, delights and disappointments from the Detroit auto show. NAIAS 2012 was a more sober affair than the previous era of showmanship; there were no herds of cattle being steered down Detroit's streets or wild parties hosted by Chrysler in the old Firehouse.
