Audi TT goes SUV: offroad concept revealed in Beijing

Audi has revealed a bold TT crossover SUV at the Beijing Motor Show – and the offroad concept looks so complete and production-intent, we wouldn’t bet against this concept becoming a showroom reality sooner than we think. Audi’s technical boss Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg admitted at the big China show that the TT offroad concept was “a glimpse of how we might imagine a new model in a future TT family”, and that last word is crucial: this is the first clear sign that the TT is going to turn from a single model into a range of cars in its own right.

Citroen DS 6WR SUV set for debut in Beijing

A year ago, we got all excited about Citroen’s Wild Rubis concept. At the time, we said it previewed a forthcoming Citroen DS SUV, so there’s no prizes for guessing what the Citroen DS 6WR is. Nissan are recalling a number of Qashqai, Qashqai+2 and NV200 vans in the UK after the steering wheel fell of a Qashqai in Finland. As problems with cars go, having the steering wheel fall off in your hands is not one you need to be a mechanic to diagnose. That’s exactly what happened to a Nissan Qashqai driver in  Finland who found his steering wheel had parted company with the steering column when he was parking his car.
