This 1959 Mercury speedometer has been rebuilt and calibrated to factory spec's by our speedometer and instrument company in Bloomington MN. Only NOS (new old stock) parts have been used. The housing has been painted " Petrol Blue" and the green turn signal lens' have been replaced. We also polished the plastic lens and chrome. The housing has the original part #'s and manufacture date of "JAN 59". This speedometer is virtually silent when in operation. The odometer was set back to 00000.0 but can be set to any miles that you might need to replace you r old one.
Even if you have a good working unit, this speedometer set up would look very cool on top of any dash pad. I often thought it would have been a good speedometer for older Dodge vans like the "Mystery Machine" from the Scooby-Doo show. This speedometer is a bit of a beast. Weighing in at over 6 pounds it's gonna cost you a few miles per gallon and probably a few horses too if you put it on your street rod! ;)

Fittingly, Lord Paul Drayson was behind the wheel. In order to qualify for the attempt at the electric land speed record, the vehicle had to weigh less than 2,204 pounds (1,000 kg) without the driver.
