McLaren lock out front row in Australian F1 Grand Prix qualifying

    Sat, 17 Mar 2012

Lewis Hamilton is on pole with Jenson Button alongside for the 2012 Australian F1 Grand Prix Lewis Hamilton is on pole with Jenson Button alongside for the 2012 Australian F1 Grand Prix after qualifying in Melbourne. Most of the pit lane thought McLaren had got it wrong with their new nose – a sleek nose instead of the stepped one almost all the rest of the field have this year – but as far as the opening qualifying of the 2012 F1 circus they seem to have got it just right. Hamilton set a stunning lap to open final qualifying, with Jenson Button managing to almost match his team mate with a lap just 0.152 seconds behind to make the front row a McLaren lock-out.

    Button wins in Istanbul

    Sun, 07 Jun 2009

Jenson Button wins the Turkish Grand Prix in Istanbul for Brawn GP Contrary to recent form, Button failed by a whisker to take pole position in Q3 qualifying yesterday, having to cede that to Sebastian Vettel in the Red Bull. But second is still a good place to start, and Jenson signalled his intentions on the start line by sitting in his Brawn at a slight angle, looking for all the world as if he intended driving straight across Vettel from the start. That plan didn”t work, but it was Vettel and Button who pulled away from the pack at the start and, on turn nine, Vettel wilted under pressure, went wide and Button took the lead, to drive flawlessly to the end to claim 10 points and first place.

Volvo Aims High With Its Self-Driving Car Tech Project

    Mon, 02 Dec 2013

SWEDISH car maker Volvo has announced it will embark on a large scale trial to refine the technology behind its self-driving cars. Volvo is no stranger to the technology having already conducted controlled experiments using ‘road trains’ – cars following each other closely at speed – but this exercise will involve 100 cars being deployed in the busy streets of Gothenburg, Sweden. The project ‘Drive Me – Self-driving cars for sustainable mobility’ is a joint initiative between Volvo Car Group, the Swedish Transport Administration, the Swedish Transport Agency, Lindholmen Science Park and the City of Gothenburg.
