New commenting rules on CAR Online

Thu, 21 Jan 2010

CAR Online has a reputation for intelligent, friendly and informed debate – both in our forum and on the comments attached to each story. However, a minority of users has recently dragged the standard of conversation down, ruining the enjoyment of the majority. Today we launch new guidelines so our users know the ground rules; we hope to moderate more effectively and introduce a new three-strikes-and-you're-out-rule.'We have to act to protect CAR Online's quality debate,' said associate editor Tim Pollard.

Aston Martin One-77 – in the flesh

Sun, 26 Apr 2009

The completed Aston Martin One-77 revealed at the Concorso d’Eleganza at Villa d’Este But as we told you the other day, Aston Martin decided that the perfect place to show an ostensibly finished One-77 was the Concorso d’Eleganza at Villa d’Este. Which, if it hadn’t rained (which thankfully it didn’t the whole time) would have been idyllic (actually, we had heard on the grapevine that Aston Martin had agreed that the first showing would be at this year’s Salon Prive at the Hurlingham Club in Fulham – glad we didn’t run that as a story!). I have to say the Aston Martin One-77 does look as glorious in the flesh as we hoped.

Peugeot i0n electric car at 2009 Frankfurt motor show

Tue, 08 Sep 2009

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 08 September 2009 12:57 PSA is forging closer links with Mitsubishi; after the Outlander became the C-Crosser and 4007, now Peugeot has teamed up with the Japanese to launch the i0n – an electric car based on the electric Mitsubishi i-car. The zero-emissions Peugeot i0n (combines a zero with ions, geddit?) will go on sale at the end of 2010 and builds on the French company’s expertise with EVs stretching all the way back to 1995 when it launched the 106 Electric. It’ll go 80 miles on one charge of the lithium ion battery, making it ideal for urban commuting and short shuttles, says Peugeot.
