LAND CRUISER HUBCAPS SET

THESE  CAPS ARE GETTING HARDER TO FIND AND REALLY COOL TO DISPLAY IF YOU ARE RUNNING CUSTOM WHEELS.  READ ALL OF THE DESCRIPTION AND LOOK AT THE PICTURES!!! ACCORDING TO THE GUY I ACQUIRED THESE FROM HE BOUGHT A NEW LAND CRUISER BACK IN THE DAY AND REPLACED THE OEM TIRES AND WHEELS WITH AFTERMARKET. ABOUT 10 & 1/2 INCHES IN OVERALL DIAMETER.  THE CENTER HOLE IS ABOUT 8 & 1/4 INCHES.  THE CAPS ARE ABOUT 3 & 1/4 TO 3 & 1/2 INCHES DEEP.  I BELIEVE THE CAPS WERE USED ON TOYOTA WHEELS THAT HAD CLIPS.  NOT AN EXPERT ON THESE.  LOOK CLOSELY.

ON TO THE DESCRIPTION.  THESE ARE UNRESTORED CAPS THAT ARE IN VERY VERY GOOD OVERALL CONDITION.  THEY SUFFER FROM TYPICAL WEAR INCLUDING A COUPLE OF TINY, LITTLE DINGS, AND SOME SUPER LIGHT SURFACE SCRATCHES. A COUPLE OF THEM ALSO HAVE HAD A TINY BIT OF SURFACE RUST THAT CLEANED UP NICELY. THERE IS ALSO A LITTLE PAINT WEAR.  OBVIOUSLY THE BACK SIDE HAS SOME SURFACE RUST HERE AND THERE. JUST TRYING TO BE COMPLETE IN DESCRIBING THEM. THESE TOYOTA HUBCAPS ARE DIFFICULT TO FIND.   ANYWAY, THEY ARE NOT PERFECT FRIENDS, NONE OF THESE OLD CAPS ARE.  HOWEVER THEY ARE A REASONABLY PRICED, NICE, UNRESTORED SET THAT WOULD SERVE MANY OWNERS WELL.

COOL EXAMPLE FROM A DAY GONE BY.  ON A SCALE OF 1-5 WITH 5 AS THE HIGH, BASED ON AGE, RARITY & CONDITION I RATE TWO OF THEM AN A 4 AND TWO OF THEM A 3++.

ONE OTHER COMMENT, WE SPENT A SEVERAL WEEKENDS AT SOME OF THE LARGEST SWAP MEETS IN THE MIDWEST OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS.  HUNDREDS OF VENDORS, THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE AND NONE OF THESE.  TAKE A CLOSE LOOK AT THEM.  WE ALSO ATTEND BARRETT JACKSON AND MECUM AUCTIONS REGULARLY. THE POINT IS THIS.  ONLY THE FINEST AND ULTRA EXPENSIVE CARS SEEM TO HAVE PERFECT TRIM.

I try to be honest about what I sell.  Almost all of these old hubcaps have imperfections.  Unless you are willing to spend hundreds for a set the best you can do are look for those in decent shape which these are.

WE SHIP ALL OVER THE WORLD!

WE COMBINE SHIPPING AND HANDLING ON MULTIPLE ITEMS TOO.

These old car parts are becoming more and more scarce.  After 10 years of selling over a 8000 items we've come to this conclusion.   If we can't sell the parts for a reasonable price, we're going to warehouse them. This is especially true of the nice parts and more unusual parts.  All they can do is go up in value.  Our point is this.  We've got the space and the means to collect and store what we sell.  Having said that don't be surprised if we run an item only once or twice and if it doesn't sell it doesn't show back up.  Please don't misunderstand us.  We want and do appreciate your business.  It just doesn't make sense to us to spend time and money relisting items over and over when almost all of these parts have only one way to go in the future.  UP.

PLEASE NOTE:  DUE TO SEVERAL NON-PAYERS WE HAVE ADDED THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT MEANT FOR THOSE TYPE OF BIDDERS.  WHILE THE VAST MAJORITY OF BUYERS PAY FOR WHAT THEY BID ON, WE HAVE RECENTLY SEEN A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN UNPAID ITEMS.  SO>>>IF YOU PLAN ON BIDDING PLEASE PLAN ON PAYING.   THANKS.  HAPPY BIDDING.

Off the line: Fun cars and social responsibility Autoweek op-ed stands the test of time

Fri, 30 Dec 2011

It's been almost 21 years to the day that Autoweek printed Matt DeLorenzo's column “Off the Line: There's room for fast, fun cars in diet of social responsibility.” And in those two decades plus, not much has changed except the vehicles themselves. For example, sports cars like the Bugatti Veyron and Pagani Huayra have astronomically high performance and safety levels; similarly, sport-utility vehicles that haul entire families (and most of their earthly possessions) achieve fuel economy similar to that of 1970s midsize sedans. To read all of DeLorenzo's thoughts and his case for automobiles, click the links to download the article.

Volkswagen working on new VR6 engine

Tue, 24 Sep 2013

Volkswagen is pushing ahead with development of a new narrow-angle V6 direct-injection gas engine, sources from the German carmaker's engineering headquarters based in Braunschweig reveal. Engineering for the new engine is being overseen by Volkswagen's new head of engine development, Fritz Eichler -- who in a previous position led the development of the current generation of Mercedes-Benz AMG powerplants -- continues with a swept volume of 3.0-liters and an unfashionable 15-degree cylinder bank angle. It has been conceived for transverse mounting.

Chrysler reveals SEMA projects

Thu, 31 Oct 2013

Chrysler teased a few of its SEMA vehicles in sketches earlier this month; now the company has unveiled its entire stand. Its display area at the Las Vegas Convention Center will show off 20 customized vehicles running the gamut from the Chrysler 300 to the Ram pickup and new Jeep Cherokee. The Ram Sun Chaser, in Vibrance Orange Blast and Brilliant Black, is based on the 1500 Quad Cab.
