This cluster housing was in my 1960 when I got the car, but it is correct for a 61 or 62. I already had the housing painted when I discovered that there was a difference between 59-60 and 61-62 housings.

I ended up having to purchase a correct housing (top and bottom). Since the one I had was painted, I reused the top half and had the bottom half painted. That is way the top in the picture is in primer and the bottom is painted.

The housing is in very good condition. I media blasted and primed with etch primer. The bottom half has two very minor condition issues. If you look at the third there is a small crack at one of the tabs on the top. I had repaired from the backside with JB Weld and the crack does not show from the front with the top and bottom fitted together. In fact, the one I have on my car had the exact same crack on the same tab.

The only other issued is there was a small dent on the part of the housing that holds the tach. You can sort of see the dent on the inside in picture 3 (blue circle). This dent was completely repaired on the outside with filler and is impossible to see with the cluster assembled (see picture 1).

A Night at the Movies with Alex Xydias

Tue, 22 Apr 2014

“I started shooting movies when I stopped racing,” said original hot rod hero Alex Xydias. “When I had enough stuff I made this.” “This” is "The Hot Rod Story," a documentary shot by the man himself from about 1962 to 1964 at the drag strips, dry lakes and cruise-ins of the day. It's a movie shot in the style of, say, a Bruce Brown surf movie or a Warren Miller ski movie.

Techart at 2009 Frankfurt motor show

Fri, 18 Sep 2009

By Tom Sharpe First Official Pictures 18 September 2009 14:30 The aftermarket tuning community began its assault on the Porsche Panamera for the first time at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show, and leading the pack was Stuttgart-based outfit Techart. Using Porsche’s Panamera Turbo as its canvas, Techart used its stand to demonstrate how it’s gone all-out to make its mark on the luxury GT, introducing what it calls a 'discreet elegance' into the mix. Visually, there are few places where Techart hasn't had a go at making an impact of some kind.

Bahrain Grand Prix 2014: Rosberg takes pole for Mercedes ahead of Hamilton

Sat, 05 Apr 2014

Nico Rosberg pips Lewis Hamilton to pole in Bahrain. It’s already staring to look like Mercedes is going to dominate F1 in 2014, and the performance of the two Mercedes in qualifying for the 2014 Bahrain Grand Prix did nothing to change that. Essentially a duel between Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton, it was Rosberg’s turn to take pole position with Lewis Hamilton having to settle for second place on the grid after driving too deep in to a corner on his last flying lap and giving up the fight to take pole from his team mate. It was Rosberg’s second successive pole in Bahrain.
