DO NOT LET THE COVER MAKE YOU THINK

“ONLY for NEW JERSEY!”

This manual covers the gamut of the Emission Control Systems of Chevrolet cars!!!

Here’s a manual that you may have never seen before! That’s because this manual only went to the GM Instructional Schools or Chevrolet Service Departments for the mechanics. This book is dated MAY 1972. It went to the two facilities in Union and Moorestown N.J. and even covers specific New Jersey Emission Regulations from that era.

95 pages including many fold-out pages for ALL engines, 1961-1972. That means from the 80 H.P., 145 cu. in. Corvair engine thru the 460 H.P., 454 LS-6 Chevelle engine, everything is here in this GM manual. This reprinted manual details in words, many pictures and illustrations on the following:

Mark IV Big Block • Small Block V-8 Corvair - Vega - Six-Cylinder -

      • Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PVC)
      • Air Injector Reactor (A.I.R)
      • Controlled Combustion System (CCS)
      • Combustion Emission Control (CEC)
      • Transmission Controlled Spark System-1970 (TCS)
      • Idle Stop Solenoid (ISS)
      • Evaporative Control System (ECS)

                        TCS and CEC Component Description

                        •Troubleshooting

                        •Specifications

                        •Applications and more!

Remember the saying, “Knowledge Is Power”? All your emission answers are right at your fingertips!

These is part of a large stash of late 50’s, 60’s & 70’s parts that were owned by a gentleman who was, for 35+ years a Senior GM School Instructor at GM South Jersey Facility. He squirreled away loads of NOS parts and reprinted manuals like this. I’m going thru case by case and listing them here as I find them.

Joel Piaskowski becomes Director of Exterior Design at Ford North America

Mon, 27 Sep 2010

Joel Piaskowski is set to become Ford's North American Director of Exterior Design. He will be filling the position previously vacated by Moray Callum, who was promoted to Executive Director for Ford Americas design when Peter Horbury went back to head up Volvo's design efforts earlier this year. "I'm very much looking forward to working with the team at Ford," Piaskowski told Car Design News.

New 2015 Volvo XC90 – first exterior photo

Tue, 12 Aug 2014

The new Volvo XC90 (pictured) arrives in 2 weeks The reveal of the new 2015 Volvo XC90 is only two weeks away – although probably overdue by many years – and Volvo continue to pique our interest with more information on the new XC90. Top of Volvo’s information list this time is their new Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) which underpins the new mXC90, but in the process they have revealed the first exterior photo of the new XC90 (although the exterior has already been revealed), although it is only a front-end detail photo. What it does show is the XC90′s new headlights – complete with running lights Volvo has dubbed ‘Thor’s Hammer – which look similar to those found on a number of Volvo’s recent concepts, a much bigger grill than we’re used to seeing on a Volvo and a sculptured bonnet.

2012 Mercedes A-Class AMG to get 350bhp & 4WD

Wed, 20 Apr 2011

Mercedes Concept-A gets unveiled in Shanghai It’s rather hard to imagine the current Mercedes A-Class coming with 350bhp running through its front wheels. It may have managed to pass the Elk test to make it safe, but 350bhp would be enough to tear the steering wheel from your hands and roll you over in a brisk bend. But this isn’t the current A-Class we’re talking about, but the 2012 Mercedes A-Class based on the very fine-looking Mercedes Concept-A we reported a couple of weeks ago, and which bowed in at Shanghai this week.
