1961 Ford Falcon Side View Mirror By Yankee Metals #40154 on 2040-parts.com

Winter Park, Florida, United States
Condition:Used Brand:Yankee Surface Finish:Chrome Manufacturer Part Number:40154 Warranty:No Placement on Vehicle:Left

This is a side mount rear view mirror with chrome finish from a 1961 Ford Falcon.  It is missing the mirror, but is otherwise solid.  This mirror can be mounted on the left or right side, it is manual adjustment, only.  This mirror was made by Yankee, and is believed to be OEM for other American cars of the same era - please do your own research on this.  It has a bit of patina, and would also look great in a custom project, Rat Rod, etc.

This is an ORIGINAL item, not a foreign-made reproduction!

My research indicates that this mirror is also correct for 1964 1/2 Mustangs, and a few other early-mid 1960's Fords, but please do your own research to confirm.

The picture of the donor vehicle for this mirror is for reference only - the auction is for ONE mirror.

Thanks for looking!

Automakers try to stop increase in ethanol limit to 15 percent of gasoline

Mon, 11 Oct 2010

Automakers are seeking to head off an EPA ruling that would allow gasoline to contain 15 percent ethanol, up from 10 percent now, and they've won some bipartisan congressional support. The two main automaker industry lobbies have argued that the U.S. Department of Energy has done insufficient testing to assure that gasoline containing up to 15 percent ethanol won't harm vehicles.

Porsche 911 (991)

Thu, 18 Aug 2011

The release of a new generation of the Porsche 911 is always a major motoring event and the launch of the latest – the 991, which will make its debut in Frankfurt next month – appears to be the most significant since the icon switched to water cooling with the 996 in 1998. While quite obviously an evolution of the 997 and every version prior, the 991 is longer (+56mm), wider (+65mm) and lower (-11mm) than its predecessor, while the wheelbase has been extended in order to increase rear leg room and move the model further into the GT segment. Its front lamp graphics offer a visual link to the 918 concept car and sit above a set of angular DRL/turn signal units and enlarged lower mask intakes.

Autoweek America Adventure: Thar be treasure out there

Sat, 29 Oct 2011

OK, truth: It's kind of hard to not care. Yeah, yeah, that's the Honey Badger credo (and for those who think I've just spouted some kind of odd Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom gibberish, please go to YouTube and check out the Honey Badger video.) But being competitive sorts, Team Honey Badger--Tommy Kendall and I--do care. I have to say the second day of rallying is starting to bring out the competitive spirit.
