1960s FORD DOG DISH HUBCAPS (2)

THESE  CAPS ARE GETTING HARDER TO FIND AND REALLY COOL TO DISPLAY IN THE TRUNK IF YOU ARE RUNNING CUSTOM WHEELS. PLEASE READ ALL OF THE DESCRIPTION AND LOOK AT ALL OF THE PICTURES CLOSELY BEFORE BIDDING.  THEY ARE ROUGHLY 9 & 1/2 INCHES IN DIAMETER.  THEY WILL FIT A VARIETY OF VEHICLES BUT MAKE SURE YOU MEASURE THE DIAMETER OF YOUR WHEEL CENTERS.  I BELIEVE THESE ARE EARLY FAIRLANE 500 CAPS.

ON TO THE DESCRIPTION.  THESE ARE UNRESTORED CAPS THAT ARE IN FAIR OVERALL CONDITION.  THERE ARE TWO CAPS. NEITHER OF THESE TWO CAPS ARE SHOW CAPS.  BOTH HAVE WEAR. GOOD FOR THE OLD CAR MISSING THEM OR POSSIBLY TO REWORK... SEE PICS.  STILL QUITE USEABLE BUT BOTH HAVE TYPICAL OLD USED CAP ISSUES.  SCRATCHES,DINGS ETC. ON EACH CAP.   WE HONESTLY DON'T FIND THESE MUCH ANY MORE.   SO PLEASE LOOK AT THE PICS CAREFULLY AND DECIDE IF THEY ARE RIGHT FOR YOU. THEY ARE NOT PERFECT FRIENDS, NONE OF THESE OLD CAPS ARE.  HOWEVER THEY ARE REASONABLY PRICED, GOOD, UNRESTORED EXAMPLES THAT WOULD SERVE MANY OWNERS WELL.   

COOL EXAMPLE FROM A DAY GONE BY.  ON A SCALE OF 1-5 WITH 5 AS THE HIGH, BASED ON AGE, RARITY & CONDITION I RATE THEM A 3 OVERALL.

ONE OTHER COMMENT, WE SPENT A SEVERAL WEEKENDS AT SOME OF THE LARGEST SWAP MEETS IN THE MIDWEST OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS.  HUNDREDS OF VENDORS, THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE AND NONE OF THESE.  TAKE A CLOSE LOOK AT THEM.  WE ALSO ATTEND BARRETT JACKSON AND MECUM AUCTIONS REGULARLY. THE POINT IS THIS.  ONLY THE FINEST AND ULTRA EXPENSIVE CARS SEEM TO HAVE PERFECT TRIM.  

I try to be honest about what I sell.  Almost all of these old hubcaps have imperfections.  Unless you are willing to spend hundreds for a set the best you can do are look for those in decent shape which this is.

These old car parts are becoming more and more scarce.  After 10 plus years of selling over a 8000 items we've come to this conclusion.   If we can't sell the parts for a reasonable price, we're going to warehouse them. This is especially true of the nice parts and more unusual parts.  All they can do is go up in value.  Our point is this.  We've got the space and the means to collect and store what we sell.  Having said that don't be surprised if we run an item only once or twice and if it doesn't sell it doesn't show back up.  Please don't misunderstand us.  We want and do appreciate your business.  It just doesn't make sense to us to spend time and money relisting items over and over when almost all of these parts have only one way to go in the future.  UP.
