BOUGHT THIS NOS 1962 FORD GALAXIE 500XL HORNRING >ALSO 1961 AND 1962 MERCURY FULL SIZE PASS. CAR , ON E-BAY ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO. IT WAS MOUNTED ON A 1962 GALAXIE XL FOR ABOUT 3,000 MILES AND THEN IT WAS REMOVED AND STORED INDOORS FOR THE LAST 8 OR 9 YEARS. CHROME QUALITY IS STILL VERY CLOSE TO NOS. IT REALLY IS THAT NICE. NEED TO MENTION THAT WHEN PURCHASED, THERE WAS A VERY SMALL HAIRLINE CRACK THAT HAD STARTED ON THE EDGE OF THE RIGHT SPOKE. I TOOK A VERY CLOSE PICTURE TO SHOW THIS. IT HAS JUST STARTED ON THE EDGE OF THE SPOKE AND HAS NOT SPREAD TO THE END. OTHER THAN THAT ONE FLAW THIS CAN JUST ABOUT PASS FOR >>NOS<<. IT WAS THERE WHEN PURCHASED AND HAS NOT GOTTEN ANY WORSE. YOU CANNOT SEE IT WHEN MOUNTED , BECAUSE THE CENTER HUB ASSEMBLY COVERS THIS SECTION. I HAVE NOT SEEN ANOTHER NOS 62 XL HORNRING ON E-BAY IN THE LAST 8 YEARS AND A GOOD USED ONE , ARE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND. MOST ARE VERY PITTED AND 95 % OF THE TIME ARE COMPLETELY CRACKED AND BROKEN. THIS ONE IS NOT PERFECT BUT IT IS VERY CLOSE.  WILL SHIP ANYWHERE IN THE U.S. FOR $15.00 DOUBLE BOXED FOR PROTECTION.

For perhaps the first time, Volvo are offering a serious alternative to cars like the BMW 1 Series (and the new Mercedes A Class) with the V40. Certainly on all the things that grab the headlines – looks, performance and equipment – the V40 seems to be a very credible effort from Volvo.
