1962 Pontiac 389 FORGED RODS - set of 8 - removed from a 1962 Bonneville 389.  Nothing has been done to these rods since pins were pressed out of pistons.  They have not been cleaned or shot peened.  We did wire brush one a bit to see if light surface rust would come off and it did.  Engine as standard bore with all 8 original GM marked pistons.  Engine had not run for many years.  There was water rust evidence in 3 of the cylinders between the heads and the piston top, and it appeared it had suffered leaking head gaskets.  We pulled the heads for parts for another rebuild.  We know nothing more about these forged rods other than they are found only in 62 and prior engines and are somewhat rare now.  Sold complete set "AS IS"  Pictures show all 8 in #1, and each picture set of two thereafter shows each side of a pair of rods so you can view all of them totally.  541-480-9200
"IF IT WAS A OE STOCK PART ON A 62 THROUGH 66 PONTIAC FULL SIZE CAR OR A 73-76 GRAND PRIX, WE PROBABLY HAVE IT"   541-480-9200

AW survey: Honda Element won't be missed

Wed, 15 Dec 2010

Is Honda making a mistake by killing the Element SUV after the 2011 model year? AutoWeek readers think not. Our poll shows that 56 percent of voters indicated a readiness to wave good-bye to the “toaster on wheels.” On the other hand, 32 percent found the Element was supremely useful and cool, and 12 percent signaled they didn't know how to transport their dogs anymore in its absence (remember the “dog-friendly” Element?).

Chevrolet Trax: Price from £15,495

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

The Chevrolet Trax – the Chevrolet version of the Vauxhall and Opel Mokka – will cost from £15,495 in the UK. First cars in July 2013. With a Chevy makeover that adds new front and back ends and Chevrolet badges, the Trax looks a decent urban crossover come SUV effort from Chevrolet and offers an alternative for those who fancy a Mokka but want to stand out from the crowd (and spend less money).

Zero tolerance to drink-driving urged

Tue, 10 Jun 2014

DRIVERS are being urged to pledge not to drink any alcohol before driving this summer as the police launches a new drink-driving campaign. The call comes from road safety charity Brake, which reports that the 2013 summer drink-driving campaign by the police breathalysed 100,892 drivers and 5170 failed the test. This summer’s football World Cup is a cause for concern for the police as drivers may be tempted to have an alcoholic drink while watching a football match before getting into their car.
