Condition:For parts or not working Placement on Vehicle:Left, Right, Front, Rear Warranty:No

For sale:  Collection of C2, Corvette Bumpers: 15 Left Front, 21 Right Front, 18 Left Rear, and 22 Right Rear (76 total).  These are being sold as one package.  I will not separate.  I am obviously looking for those that restore/rechrome bumpers or have a Corvette restoration shop.  They are the remains of several Corvette Salvage Yards here in the Midwest that are no longer in business.  There are no Chinese bumpers in this pile.  See my other listing for C3 bumpers.

Condition:  Very Important to Understand.  These bumpers are CORES.  In my opinion, there are no driver quality bumpers in this pile.  Some are bent, many are corroded (including holes), some have holes drilled in them, some have bolts twisted off, and some have some sort of combination of these issues.  Companies like the Bumper Boyz in California can save these bumpers and return them to show condition.  But, do not expect to simply send them to the neighborhood chrome shop unless they normally straighten and weld bumpers.

Price:  Let's say you will simply throw away six of these cores.  So I am asking $45 each for 70 of them ($3,150) plus shipping.  The companies that sell restored bumpers require a $100 - $150 core charge.  Now, I am not saying that all of those companies will accept all of these cores.  I just don't know.

Shipping:  It would be best if they were picked up here in Nebraska (near Omaha).  I get a serious discount from UPS Freight and can get you a quote from them.  And, if paid for in advance, I will deliver free of charge to the Bloomington Gold Corvette Swap Meet in Indy that starts June 23.

Nissan Puts Self-Cleaning Car To The Test

Fri, 25 Apr 2014

NOT a fan of cleaning your car? If so, you might want to make friends with your local Nissan dealer, as the Japanese firm has begun tests on a "self-cleaning" vehicle which could wash away the worries of those weary of doing the job themselves. Boffins at Nissan's European technical centre in Switzerland are testing an innovative paint technology that repels mud, rain and everyday dirt.

Driving licence charges set to fall

Mon, 28 Jul 2014

DRIVING LICENCE fees are to fall, with larger reductions for those who carry out online transactions, the Government has announced. The plans, which are to be consulted on, envisage drivers who apply online for their first driving licence would see the fee drop from £50 to £34. Drivers who renew their licence after 10 years would see the fee drop from £20 to £14.

Is the car industry heading toward the past?

Wed, 29 Jan 2014

Is the future of cars decidedly old school? An NPR blogger certainly thinks so. NPR Business Desk reporter Sonari Glinton recently likened the 2014 Detroit auto show to an era 40 years ago, reflecting the possibility that the renewed zeitgeist of an entire convention indicates a "retro" kind of thinking.
