Mazda diesel delayed again

Thu, 09 Jan 2014

If you've been waiting for a Mazda 6 diesel, prepare to wait a bit longer. After delaying the US launch until Spring 2014, Mazda now says it won't meet that target date either. Mazda says the engine meets current emissions standards using only a particulate filter, but the resulting blend of performance and fuel economy isn't up to snuff.

Nissan's London taxi to be assembled in Coventry

Wed, 29 Jan 2014

NISSAN has announced that final assembly of its new NV200-based London taxi will take place in Coventry, contributing to a £6 million investment in a brand new facility. ADV Manufacturing will undertake the final production stage before each unit then heads for the streets of the English capital. Andy Palmer, Chief Planning Officer and Executive Vice President of Nissan Motor Corporation, revealed the news as part of his address to students at Coventry University, where he was delivering the prestigious Bugatti Lecture on the future of motoring.

Jaguar XFR-S arrives ahead of LA debut

Wed, 28 Nov 2012

The Jaguar XFR-S – Jaguar’s most powerful saloon car to date – has leaked out ahead of its debut tonight at the Los Angeles Auto Show. We’re hoping that Jaguar has managed to bestow extra power on the very appealing XFR without wrecking the stuff that makes Jaguar saloons so appealing – the dynamic/ride balance – which, if they have, will make the XFR-S a more appealing bonkers sports saloon than the German offerings. The promise is all there with a new butch front end, a more aggressive body kit, chunks of carbon fibre, a huge rear wing for extra downforce, a new diffuser at the back, stiffer springs, a new rear subframe with stiffer bushes, a tweaked active diff and a tweak of the stability control for more fun.
