Kubrick's Jaguar memories: XJ12s and more

Tue, 08 Jun 2010

Once upon a time there was a small boy, about seven years old, who had taken an interest in cars at a rather early stage, mainly thanks to his old man, who was (and, thankfully, still is) a car enthusiast and, back in those days, a staunch supporter of a certain Southern German marque. This naturally meant that the small boy would sometimes be a bit annoyed by his father's occasionally overbearing passion, but at the same time usually knit his eyebrows himself whenever he came across something sporting four wheels but no blue & white propeller (which, he believed, was the way things were supposed to be). Bentley 6¾ litre V8 to end production – Diesels & Hybrid on the way

Fri, 17 Aug 2012

BMW tried to bring production of the old iron lump to an end in 1998 – replacing it with a characterless BMW 4.4 litre V8 – but it was back a year later when VW took over as the motivation for the Red Label Arnage – and it’s stayed ever since.

Project Car Hell, Fix It Again (and Again and Again) Tony Edition: 124 Sport Spider or Strada?

Fri, 04 Apr 2014

Is it possible for a car to be too horrible even for Project Car Hell? Given the fact that, in the past, we've made you choose between a Hurricane Sandy-immersed Aston Martin Lagonda and a similarly flooded GAZ-21 Volga, you might think the answer to that question would be an emphatic no. Why, even last week we threatened you with eternal Simca damnation!
