We are professional restorers of Corvette and Camaro aluminum intake manifolds. Please note, only the first 6 pics are of this manifold, the others are to show what can happen when you try to restore one of these. There are 2 pics here of a 69 Z28 Camaro manifold we repaired for a customer, he tried to remove the old fitting, before and after. This one for sale here is for the 1963 340 hp Corvette engine. Manifold is not painted, bare alum as it should be. Comes with a set of mounting bolts with the thick stainless steel washers to keep the bolts from digging into the alum. It has the studs for the thermostat housing and a new new carb stud kit. One of the most important things on these are the pipe threads into the water jacket. these are perfect. Very involved and expensive to repair them. No cracks or welded ears. No corrosion to the coolant areas. We have removed all the old corroded fittings from the water jacket. You are not going to unscrew most old fittings and plugs without damage to the alum if you buy one that needs them removed. You can't do a nice restoration with old corroded rounded off fittings in one. You can soak them, apply heat, it's not going to help. When they rust, they expand. You try to unscrew them and 90% of the time you will crack the manifold or the alum threads will come out with it, we repair a lot of them that are sent in from people trying to do this.  There is only one way to get them out safely and that's to drill them out. You need to know what you're doing to do this to save the alum threads. What is it they say? Don't try this at home. Save yourself a lot of trouble and don't buy one with old fittings or plugs in it. We always remove the bottom shield for cleaning and inspection, then reinstall with new rivets. There is a pic of some of the old rivets that we throw in that container just to give you an idea of how many we have restored. We have posted a pic of a manifold where the heat riser had burned through and it was not visable with the shield on. How would you like to have installed that on your eng? You would be pulling the eng apart and never find why it's smoking and blowing oil. Some "Corvette" dealers, sellers, will not remove that shield as they say they don't want to ruin the integrity of the manifold. Are you kidding?   This is ready to install with no problems. You don't use paypal, no problem we accept checks.

If you have a manifold that needs repair and restoring we can help!  It is said we are the best at restoring these. Questions?  Call Gary 813 972-2129 et 7 days

Infiniti previews Sebastian Vettel-inspired FX50 before Frankfurt motor show

Mon, 29 Aug 2011

Infiniti released a photo of the sinister-looking FX50 concept inspired by Sebastian Vettel on Sunday. The 390-hp sports crossover looks to be painted in matte white, which was one of the things discussed in the Vettel FX50 teaser video we saw on Friday. The video shows Vettel and Infiniti design chief Shiro Nakamura discussing the vehicle that is set to debut in Frankfurt, including colors, steering wheels and carbon-fiber accents.

Hiromu Naruse: ‘Godfather’ of the LFA ‘Not Famous Enough’

Fri, 11 Feb 2011

Hiromu Naruse & Lexus LFA Last year we reported the death of Hiromu Naruse, Toyota’s chief test driver and a man considered to be the ‘Godfather’ of the Japanese performance car, and particularly the Lexus LFA, a car which consumed the last decade of his life and became the final testament to his enormous skill. At 67, Naruse-san was still as involved as ever, and it was whilst driving a Lexus LFA with the Nurburgring Package he met his end on a public road near the Nurburgring. A track, incidentally, he had driven more than any other Japanese driver.

CAR tech: why Porsche needs hybrids

Mon, 16 Sep 2013

At the launch of the 997-generation 911 Turbo in 2006, Porsche faced a daunting future. Anti-car chatter from EU legislators proposed banning anything that produced more than 241g/km of CO2 and exceeded 101mph. ‘We’ll have to close if the European Commission decides that every carmaker must reach [these targets],’ a Porsche exec told CAR.
