Up for auction is a 1963 Pontiac 389 engine complete with Tri Power intake and carbs. The casting number on the block is 543680 and on the heads is 543797. I do not know if the what shape the motor is in but there is no water in the oil. The original Tri Power air cleaner is included and these air cleaners are not being reproduced. Two of the carbs have cracks that you can see in the pictures where they got caught on the chain. This motor is being sold AS IS with no warranty to the condition so look at the pictures closely. A LUCKY Lotus Cortina owner has won a £5,000 prize to make improvements and restorations to his car. Pete Shaw was awarded the prize by Footman James classic car insurance at last month’s Classic Motor Show. His beloved 1966 Mk1 Airflow Lotus Cortina had been entered into the competition with much-needed work on the cards.

Insurance changes to make shopping around easier

DRIVERS renewing their car insurance could find it easier to shop around or haggle for a discount under new proposals set out by insurers. The Association of British Insurers (ABI) said it has written to the City regulator, suggesting that new minimum standards of information should be set across the market. The standards would mean that renewal documents for motor and home buildings and contents insurance would include the premium that the customer started the year paying alongside their renewal quote, so that they could be compared more easily.
