De Tomaso sold by Rossignolo

Thu, 09 Feb 2012

De Tomaso sold to unknown investors De Tomaso – the ill-fated Italian supercar maker – has been sold by Gian Mario Rossignolo after a financially fraught revival attempt. De Tomaso seems fated to lurch from one financial crisis to another – as it has throughout its history – with the latest efforts by former Fiat executive Gian Mario Rossignolo to revive the marque floundering for investment. And it looks like Rossignolo has given up the fight and sold out to unnamed investors.

Audi A1 quattro prototype

Wed, 12 Jan 2011

The Audi A1 quattro snow testing in Canada It did seem a strange omission by Audi not to have a quattro drivetrain for the ‘Only Premium Brand in its Sector’ Audi A1. And it was that lack of a quattro system for the A1 which apparently stopped the car that ended up being the Audi A1 1.4 TFSI from being launched as the Audi S1 at Paris last year. All of which has no doubt spurred Audi on to see development of a quattro platform for the A1.

Cadillac CTS Coupe launches in LA +Video

Wed, 02 Dec 2009

Cadillac CTS Coupe gets official unveil at the LA Auto Show It’s not long since GM revealed that the CTS was going to spawn a Coupe version to go with the Estate (station Wagon), and even less time since we learned there is a going to be a Coupe version of the CTS-V – the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe. Which is now one step closer to reality with the official reveal of the CTS Coupe at the Los Angeles Motor Show, following on from the CTS Coupe announcement last week. Due to go on sale in Spring 2010 (I suppose we’re back to US model years – does that make it a 2011 CTS Coupe?), the CTS Coupe takes the oily bits from the saloon/sedan and puts them in to a very convincing, muscular coupe that sits lower and wider than its four-door sibling.
