Here is a bare tailgate shell originally from a 1964 Chevelle wagon. This tailgate interchanges with all 64 65 66 and 67 GM A-body wagons, including Buick Skylark Sportwagon, Oldsmobile F85 Cutlass Vista Cruiser, and Pontiac Lemans Tempest. I believe the only difference across the years is the emblems and trim. The body lines are the same and match up exactly across all four years and all 3 divisions.
This is a dry desert tailgate shell, so there are no rust issues. There is no swelling of the seams at the bottom which is so common on these. There also appears to be no filler in it, including no bondo worms visible on the inside. There are a couple small areas that will need some minor straightening. There is a small shallow crease above and to the left of the tailgage handle opening. There is also an area directly above the tailgate handle opening where the paint is cracking. I'm guessing the tailgate might have fallen over on the handle and caused the metal to stress in that area. These should be easy fixes for a skilled body man. Just to be clear, this is just the shell of the tailgate. I do not have glass, a regulator, hinges, a handle, trim/emblems or any other attaching pieces. This is too large for FedEx or UPS, and very expensive to ship truck freight. Therefore, shipping is only available via Greyhound. This means that you will need to have a Greyhound bus terminal in your area (which offers package service) where you can pick this up. Shipping is a flat fee of $125 to Greyhound locations in the Continental US only. |

Known internally as the RR4, the car is due to be launched in 2010 and will sit alongside the Phantom in the model line-up.
