Top Gear test track added to Google Street View
Fri, 24 Jan 2014TOP GEAR fans can follow in the tyre tracks of The Stig after the BBC show's test track was added to Google Street View. The location at Dunsfold Aerodrome, Surrey, has been the venue for star guests such as Benedict Cumberbatch and Damian Lewis to drive a lap for the programme. Test driver The Stig - at the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black - accompanied the Google car as it did a circuit of the 2.82km track.
Bank holiday travellers face delays
Fri, 23 May 2014DRIVERS will face congested roads as millions move off on a bank holiday weekend promising to be a mixture of sunshine and showers. The Highways Agency has completed a number of roadworks and suspended others over the holiday, but works remain on some key routes. The AA and traffic information company Trafficmaster have predicted that as many as 17 million cars could take to the roads over the weekend, with numbers swelled by a series of sporting events, music festivals and air shows.
McLaren P1 Nurburgring record time is…a fiction for designers inspiration
Fri, 24 May 2013The source for the story was an image taken from a Chinese website showing the McLaren logo and a time board showing the P1 as having done a lap of the Nurburgring in 6:33s. The image was real, but the story wasn’t. It seems the image was part of a ‘Mood Board’ McLaren put together when they were designing the P1 to inspire their designers with what could be possible, and that’s found its way on to the Interwebs in China.
