In 1963 Ford released the first 289 High Performance engine which produced 271 BHP @ 6000 RPM. It was first introduced into the Fairlane and then the Comet and finally ended its run in the Mustang. The 289 "HIPO" engine also made its way into the first Shelby AC Cobras and the Shelby GT350 Mustangs through 1967.

Toyota has revealed a mildly facelifted 2010 RAV4 at Geneva A couple of weeks ago we reported that Toyota had told us the RAV4 for 2010 was going to get something of a nip and tuck. Nothing much mind you, just a slight shaping of the ageing jowls and possibly some refinements to the interior trim. Also on the cards was a bit of eco-work to make the RAV4 a bit more friendly to fluffy bunnies.

Aston Martin Vantage gets V12, but we won't get one

The Aston Martin V12 Vantage, the hottest version of the two-seat coupe, is the latest step in the automaker's new-model offensive for 2009. Revealed just days after the Rapide four-door, the V12 Vantage is the second of four major reveals from Aston this year. Also coming is the DBS convertible, which will share stand space at Geneva with the V12 Vantage and a concept for a new Lagonda, the dormant brand that Aston plans to bring back to life as a super-luxury Rolls-Royce/Maybach challenger.
