up for sale is a 283 dated march 24 1964. the motor before tear down has NEVER been rebuilt.. this was being built for a vintage hot rod here at my shop. the customer changed his mind during mid-build.. so we finished it up and now its for sale.. so.. block has been tanked,bored .040 and cleaned new silvolite flat top 9:1 pistons and speed pro rings crank polished and mic. std rods and mains.--was very little wear in this engine.. Z-28 high pressure oil pump and new pickup power pack heads tanked and inspected- intake seats cut for 1.94 valves and bowl blended and chambers polished, marine valves installed with new howards cams springs. Comp Cams "nostalgia 30-30" solid lifter cam and lifters set at .016 lash per cam card vintage 1960's "weiand" cross ram intake with new Holley 450 carbs and OFFY linkage and brass fuel lines remanufactured corvette dual quad fuel pump original cast iron distributor completely rebuilt and installed pertronix ignition conversion and MSD adjustable vacuumn advance canister rebuilt aluminum water pump GM 350hp/327 deep groove crank pulley started and ran above 2500 rpm for 15 min. shut down changed out AMSOIL break in 30wt and installed new filter and 15-40 rotella. runs 80 psi oil pressure the engine has a nasty old school idle and throttle response is great and will run great on pump gas. would make a great hot rod or gasser motor. due to the radical idle it will need at least a 3000 stall converter with a automatic transmission. its painted with acrylic enamel- hugger orange. for durability.. no spray cheap cans any questions please call Brian at 931-327-2188.. 8-5 Monday thru Friday. |
