Tata Nano bounces back
Mon, 03 Jan 2011Tata Nano Sales recovered well in December The Tata Nano was going to be the car that changed the world. Not since the Model T brought motoring to the masses was there a car that was going to change the game so drastically, with a list price in India of just £1750 and plans to bring the Tata Nano to Europe with a sub £5k tag, the Nano was going to be a revolution. Scottish Car of the Year 2011: Big night for Jaguar Land Rover
Sat, 15 Oct 2011Scottish Car of the Year 2011 Last night saw the awards dinner for the Scottish car of the Year at the Thistle in Glasgow, with Land Rover taking top honours and Jaguar walking away with three gongs (well, two gongs and the motoring equivalent of a ‘Lifetime Achievement’ trophy). The unstoppable Range Rover Evoque took the big prize, being voted the Scottish Car of the Year. Of course, it also won SUV of the year (it would have been a bit odd if it didn’t) and at this rate – and the great feedback from customers and media – Land Rover look like they’ll be mopping up a lot of gongs this next year.
Farewell Jim Marshall, 1936-2010: Legendary photographer and a true car guy
Thu, 08 Apr 2010Jim Marshall--friend, rock photography legend and occasional AutoWeek contributor--died on March 24 in his sleep at the W Hotel in Manhattan. Marshall, 74, was scheduled to speak that night at the John Varvatos store in SoHo in New York, and work from his new book, Match Prints, was to be shown beginning on March 26 at Staley-Wise Gallery, also in SoHo. Marshall began his career in 1960, a time he used to say was "the beginning of something special." Boy, was he right.
