1964 Buick Wildcat Lesabre Invicta Electra Hood Edge Lip Chrome Molding Trim A-1 on 2040-parts.com

UPDATE: PHOTOS W/O FLASH ADD A GOLDEN HUE (IT IS VERY CHROME IN COLOR!)...
DESCRIPTION: THIS BEAUTIFUL CHROME HOOD MOLDING (GM part # 1363174) WAS REMOVED YEARS AGO BY MY FRIEND FROM HIS VERY NICE '64 WILDCAT PARTS CAR. I'VE BEEN STORING IT FOR OVER A DOZEN YEARS (WRAPPED UP). I REMOVED THE MUMMIFYING STRANDS OF BUBBLE WRAP DAYS AGO AND TOOK SOME NEW PHOTOS OF IT. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST HOOD EDGE MOLDINGS YOU WILL FIND IN THE COUNTRY FOR YOUR FULL-SIZE '64 BUICK. I DON'T KNOW (for sure) IF IT FITS THE ELECTRA 225 OR THE OTHER BIG BUICKS, SO I'LL INVOKE THE CAVEAT EMPTOR CLAUSE (advising the prospective buyer to be the judge of the interchange issues and the condition of this molding - from the photos). IT DEFINITELY FITS THE 1964 WILDCAT (any body style).
ALL OF THE MOUNTING STUDS ON THE BACK ARE IN GREAT CONDITION (AND AT LEAST 6 WIRE NUTS ARE INCLUDED). THE 2ND TO LAST PHOTO SHOWS SOME OF THE UNREMARKABLE DEFECTS OF THE MOLDING, THE SUBTLE EVIDENCE OF SUPERFICIAL SCRATCHES ON SOME UNDERBELLY STRETCHES OF THIS MOLDING. I CAN'T POSSIBLY PHOTOGRAPH EVERY NUANCE OF THE TOPOGRAPHY OF THIS THING, SO I'LL MAKE THIS STATEMENT: LOOKING DOWN THE WHOLE MOLDING FROM THE TOP(?) EDGE, IT LOOKS ARROW STRAIGHT. FROM THE BOTTOM(?) FACET, THERE IS SOME WAVINESS THAT I'M GUESSING IS TYPICAL OF THESE MOLDINGS (FROM THE DIE-CASTING). THERE IS NO (OBVIOUS) EVIDENCE OF A DING OR DAMAGE FROM LIGHTLY BUMPING SOMETHING. TRUST ME WHEN I EXCLAIM THAT THIS MOLDING WILL LOOK STUNNING WHEN INSTALLED. THE CHROME IS REALLY BRILLIANT AND LUSTROUS. IT MAY NOT BE PERFECT, BUT NEITHER IS YOUR CAR'S GRILLE (or headlight buckets, etc., save for the unlikely event that you had them painstakingly rechromed). IT IS WELL WORTH MORE THAN THE STARTING BID...
NOTE: I HAVE SOME OTHER '64 WILDCAT PARTS, AMONG NUMEROUS EARLY '60s GM PARTS.
SHIPPING/PACKING: BECAUSE I'M IN THE CORNER OF THE COUNTRY, SHPG COSTS MAY BE A BIT MORE. SETS OF LARGE HUBCAPS (AND LARGER ITEMS) MAY BE DIMENSIONALLY WEIGHTED (i.e., charged more than actual weight) BY UPS IN ANY BOX 16”x18”x18” OR LARGER (> 5183 TOTAL INCHES). I DON’T CHARGE A SEPARATE HNDLNG FEE, SO WHEN YOU SEE THE EFFORT I WENT THROUGH TO PACK THIS ORDER, YOU'LL THINK IT'S A BARGAIN. I WILL COMBINE SHIPPING, IF ITEMS CAN BE SHIPPED TOGETHER SAFELY (by deducting approx. 50% of the lesser shpg cost for each additional item). NOTE THAT I CAN’T ADD THE EXTRA CHARGES IT COSTS ME FOR A BUYER’S RESIDENTIAL DELIVERY OR RURAL RSDNTL, INSURANCE, AND FUEL SURCHARGE, AND I PAY A COMMISSION OUT OF THE SHPG PRICE. SO I’M OFTEN UNDERSTATING THE ACTUAL OUT-OF-POCKET COST IN THE QUOTE. ALSO, IT IS MY PREROGATIVE TO USE A DIFFERENT SHIPPER THAN THAT LISTED IN THE AUCTION (e.g., U.S.P.S. instead of U.P.S.), IF I FEEL THE ITEM CAN BE TRANSPORTED MORE EFFECTIVELY BY OTHER MEANS (i.e., more cheaply, or in pre-fab cartons, such as those used by U.S.P.S.). IN THE MEANTIME, IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CALL ME AT ANYTIME: 6one9-442-2800. PLEASE LEAVE A MESSAGE IF I CAN'T GET TO THE PHONE! THANKS VERY MUCH FOR YOUR INTEREST & COOPERATION...
INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: WELCOME! IF THE SHPG QUOTE SEEMS A LITTLE HIGH, PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING. IT TAKES ME QUITE A BIT OF EXTRA TIME TO SEND A PKG OUT OF THE U.S.; A VERY NOMINAL HNDLG CHARGE’S BEEN ADDED. I WILL SEND PHOTOS OF PACKAGING DETAIL (IF REQUESTED).
LAYAWAY OPTION & PAYMENT TERMS: YOU MUST MAKE A PAYMENT FOR THIS ITEM (at least 50% down) WITHIN 48 HOURS. I WILL ALLOW UP TO 30 DAYS (90 days, if pre-arranged) FOR THE BALANCE DUE TO BE PAID. Thank you for your cooperation...
FEEDBACK: MY REWARD IS THE SATISFACTION OF HAPPY BUYERS, AND MY GOAL IS TO ACHEIVE 5 STAR RATINGS. IF THERE IS ANY DELAY IN SHPMT, PLEASE CONSIDER HOW WELL I PKGD THE ITEM(S). I’VE BEEN KNOWN TO DOUBLE-BOX, USE DOUBLE-WALL BOXES, & WRAP THINGS 3 DIFFERENT WAYS. IN 34 YRS OF SHPG, I’VE RARELY EVER HAD A DAMAGED SHPMT!
FYI: IN 2011, I DONATED ALMOST HALF OF MY YEAR’S EBAY SALES RECEIPTS TO THE JAPAN EARTHQUAKE & TSUNAMI RELIEF FUND…

Nissan LEAF gets 5 Star Euro NCAP
Wed, 25 May 2011Nissan LEAF - first electric car to get5 a 5 Star NCAP rating We moan about the Nissan LEAF. But only because it’s an inferior product to the cars we already enjoy, and at an inflated price. But we’ve never said it was a bad car.
Barrett-Jackson to auction commemorative Z06 Corvette for museum fundraiser
Wed, 12 Jan 2011In honor of the Chevrolet Corvette's inaugural appearance and victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans some 50 years ago, Chevrolet built a special 2011 Corvette Z06 wearing the same paint scheme--Arctic White paint, blue stripes and the number "3"--to pay tribute to the class-winning 1960 Cunningham Corvette. Chevrolet and the General Motors Design Center built and added several special one-off features for this car, which has vehicle identification number 001: -- Competition Gray headlamps, mirrors and wheels -- Special 50th-anniversary of Le Mans racing logos -- Blue brake calipers -- Z07 performance package with Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes -- 19-inch front/20-inch rear 20-spoke Competition Gray wheels with Michelin PS2 tires -- Magnetic Selective Ride Control -- Black carbon-fiber front splitter and rockers -- ZR1-style rear spoiler -- Ebony leather-wrapped interior with Competition Gray trim -- Carbon-fiber fenders and floor panels Corvette Racing fans will recognize the special-edition Z06 as a participant in the Legends of Le Mans event at Laguna Seca in 2010. Driven by Corvette Racing legend Ron Fellows, the Z06 was accompanied by the 1960 Cunningham, the 1967 Bondurant/Guldstrand, the 1973 BF Goodrich and the C6.R GT2 Corvettes for a parade lap on the track.
