General Motors designs windshield to see what the eye might miss

General Motors is developing a windshield display system designed to outline the edges of roads in fog and highlight a deer before it crosses into traffic. The system works by collecting information through vehicle sensors and cameras and projecting laser-generated images onto the windshield. It can also highlight road signs and tell drivers when construction is coming or when a desired exit is approaching.

The first official photos of the 2011 Mercedes CLS leak out The Paris Motor Show beckons, and we are thankfully going to have far more going on in the world of cars than we have for the last month or so. And today’s leak of the 2011 Mercedes CLS in all its production ready glory – well, it’s Photoshop enhanced production ready glory, anyway – is doubtless the first of the Paris leaks to come over the next month or so. In a deal worth £2.2billion, the Italian company bought the remaining 41.46% of Chrysler from the VEBA Trust (Voluntary Employee Beneficiary Association) made up of current and former Chrysler employees. Fiat Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne says: ‘In the life of every major organisation and its people, there are defining moments that go down in the history books.
